District 10 Police Fire and Rescue Team dispatched many fire engines and dozens of officers and soldiers to approach the scene from many directions to put out the fire. More than 1 hour later, the fire was extinguished. Through checking, the authorities found that there were 4 people inside who could not survive.

The victims were identified as Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong X. (SN 1978), Ms. Le Thi Hong T. (SN 1977), Mr. Tran Quoc C. (SN 1986) and Mr. Le Hoang D. (SN 1968).

Ms. H., a resident near the scene, said that the level 4 house where the fire occurred was occupied by about 7 people.

"My house is about 5 units from the scene of the fire, hearing people shouting I know there is a fire. I ran to the rooftop and saw smoke and flames," Ms H said, adding that many adjacent households in the alley also panicked and ran out to ensure their safety.

Meanwhile, a resident said that Mr. D.'s house has lived here for a long time, Mr. D. himself works as an electronics worker at Nhat Tao market, District 10.

Another resident, Le Thanh T., 59, a neighbor, said the burning house was occupied by three brothers. Recently, people have had conflicts and disputes over this house. The ward has repeatedly reconciled but failed. "A brother had threatened to burn down the house several times before," Mrs. T. said.
