A big fire broke out from a house in the western quarter of the city. Nha Trang took the lives of three grandchildren at the same time in the middle of the night. Neighbors participating in the firefighting could not help but be haunted by the cries for help in the burning house.
According to information from Tuoi Tre newspaper, at 0:00 on June 10, a fire broke out violently at a 3-storey grocery store house in an alley on Nguyen Thien Thuat Street, Loc Tho Ward, Nha Trang City.
The house that caught fire was rented by Mr. BVT (SN 1986, hometown in Thai Binh) for a grocery business. At the time of the fire, there were 11 people in the house, including Mr. T's family, father-in-law and grandchildren. When the house caught fire, some young people drinking nearby noticed the smoke rising, so they ran to knock on the doors of the families and informed the authorities.
Upon receiving the news, the mobilized Fire Police sent fire engines, ambulances and rescue vehicles along with 30 officers and soldiers to the scene to participate in fighting the fire. The rescue force rescued 6 people (3 adults, 3 children) and 2 people managed to get out by themselves.
According to Tien Phong newspaper, when the fire was extinguished, the functional forces discovered a man and two small children who had not survived. The identities of the three victims include Mr. Vu Ngoc T. (SN 1956, Mr. Tr.'s father-in-law) and his two grandsons, Vu Minh Cat A. (SN 2017), Vu Minh Quynh A. (SN 2014), both children. It is known that the ill-fated victims of the fire all came from Thai Binh to Nha Trang to visit relatives and travel.
Haunting the desperate cry for help
By the afternoon of the same day, in the alley of Nguyen Thien Thuat street (Loc Tho ward, Nha Trang city), people here were still in shock about the fire that caused 3 grandsons to die.
The face of the ghost, wearing a T-shirt that still smells of smoke, Mr. Nguyen Van Nghia (57 years old, the leader of the 9th residential group, living about 50m away from the fire) recalls the terrible time the fire happened. Around 0:30, Mr. Nghia and his wife had just slept when they smelled a burning smell and heard a cry.
Going out to check, he saw a fire inside the grocery store. The fire engulfed and spread to two adjacent houses, many people ran around, panicking, some people packed their things and called for help.
For many years working in the hotel's technical department, Mr. Nghia calmly reported the fire to the authorities and then called out with everyone to wake up the whole neighborhood.
"Many people ran to the burning house to help, but the door was locked and the lock was unsuccessful. They tried to use buckets and pots to throw water into the house, but the fire did not decrease. They also used nearly a dozen mini fire extinguishers to fight the fire. extinguishing the fire, it was also ineffective. Inside there was a voiceless cry for help, " - Mr. Nghia recalled.
Present at the scene, Mr. Hoang Van Hai (46 years old, street guard), who participated in extinguishing the fire recalled that while he was sleeping, he heard the screams of the house burning. He rushed to join the fire crew. They tried everything but failed because the fire was red, the smoke was thick, flammable items like motorbikes made the fire even more intense.
Many people are trapped inside. Someone climbed onto the roof and then through the adjacent metal roof to escape the fire. Knowing that there were still people in the house who had not escaped, everyone was screaming, trying to find ways to save but failed.
"Everything happened so fast and the scene was chaotic and chaotic," Hai said.
Last summer vacation
Mr. Dang Khoi, uncle of two unfortunate victims in the house fire, said as soon as he heard the news he rushed from Thai Binh to Nha Trang.
After being taken to the funeral home of Khanh Hoa General Hospital, the family will take them back to their hometown for burial.
"The two children went on summer vacation to visit their grandfather and aunt. They liked Nha Trang beach very much, they should have returned early, but because they missed their grandfather and wanted to play longer, they stayed. Unexpectedly this was their last summer vacation. My mother cried when she heard the news, she fainted from morning until now," said Mr. Khoi.
And Mrs. Vu Thi Ngoc (37 years old), the biological aunt of two children, who escaped the fire, fainted shortly after and was taken to Khanh Hoa General Hospital for treatment. When she woke up, she still couldn't believe that her father and two grandchildren had died.
