An 8th grade mal.e studen.t at Bac Kan Secondary School (Bac Kan Province) was beaten up by a group of people right at school. The incident was filmed and shared on social media, causing a stir in public opinion.

On May 15, Bac Kan Provincial Police announced that they had clarified the case of an 8th grade mal.e studen.t being beaten by a group of students, resulting in broken ribs. Previously, the 4 students who bea.t their friend and recorded the video were identified as: TAĐ. (born 2010); BTND (born 2010), a student of class 9A5; GPV (born 2010); TBK (born 2011), a student of class 8A4. All 4 students are from Bac Kan Secondary School.

The reason was that TAĐ. posted information about selling kites, NHH contacted to ask to buy, but then did not buy. At the meeting with the school and the police, TAĐ. gave another reason that NHH texted TAĐ.'s girlfriend (a junior high school student in the city), so TAĐ. and his girlfriend had a conflict. Although NHH took a screenshot of the text message and sent it to TAĐ. to prove it, Đ. still did not believe it.

At 8:00 a.m. on May 5, during recess, TAD asked a classmate to text NHH to come to the school's practice area, where H. was beaten by TAD and BTND. When TBK intervened, the incident stopped.

Then, at around 10am the same day, TBK came to NHH, grabbed her by the neck and took her to the school restroom, where he met 3 students: Đ, D, V. waiting. At that time, K. forced H. to admit that she had rape.d Đ.'s lover, then D, Đ, V rushed in and used their feet and hands to bea.t and kick H. so hard that H. had no time to fight back. Criminologist Dr. Dao Trung Hieu said that the victims of gang beatings can be anyone, and similar situations have been recorded many times in the school environment. According to Dr. Hieu, those who violate the law will be held responsible according to regulations, and in terms of proactively preventing violenc.e, students need to be equipped with knowledge and skills to protect themselves.

From a professional perspective, Dr. Hieu commented that the common state of victims of gang beatings is usually immediate panic when violenc.e occurs.
