The fire occurred around 12:00 this afternoon (January 20) at the factory of KC Company (specializing in manufacturing foam mattresses in Tan Phuoc Khanh ward, Tan Uyen city, Binh Duong province). Initially, it was reported that the fire had no human casualties.
According to people, at around 12:00 on January 20, fire suddenly broke out from a mattress manufacturing company on Tan Phuoc Khanh Street 35, Tan Phuoc Khanh Ward, City. Tan Uyen.
The fire spread with many explosions and smoke columns rising tens of meters high, still visible from many kilometers away, threatening the power lines above.
At the fire scene, many flammable materials such as foam made the fire burn fiercely and spread.
The Fire Police Force mobilized about 10 vehicles and many officers and soldiers to the scene and implemented a firefighting plan.
According to records, a large fire engulfed the factory, with a column of smoke rising high that could still be seen even from a distance. The fire destroyed the factory roof and many raw materials.
Fire prevention work encountered many difficulties due to the intense fire. The fire hydrant area about 500 meters away was used by fire fighters for water supply.
Authorities had to drill through the wall to move inside to help put out the fire. According to records, because the factory contained many flammable materials, high winds made firefighting difficult.
Firefighting forces approached the scene to control the fire. According to people, the owner of the burned factory is a foreigner, and the cause of the fire is still being clarified.
After about 1 hour and 30 minutes of trying to put out the fire, by 2:00 p.m. the same day, the fire was basically controlled.
Initially, it was reported that the fire had no casualties, but caused the nearly 1,000 square meter factory to show signs of collapse.
Mr. Hoang Van Tuan (58 years old), a resident living next to the factory, shared: "I was taking a nap when I heard a loud explosion. When I ran out, I saw a fire dozens of meters high. The thick smoke outside was very uncomfortable."
Many people left comments under this information:
The mattress factory caught such a big fire, poor workers ran out of Tet bonuses. It's too big for the factory owner and affects the workers when Tet is closest. My condolences to everyone! Namo amitabud! Luckily no one was injured. As long as there are people, there is still property. I've been working hard all year, trying to hold on, hoping that at the end of the year I'll have some Tet money to go back to my hometown, buy my children new clothes, and get some small gifts for my parents, but if it burns out, I'll lose Tet, lose my job, so sad . Last year we were still in trouble, workers were suffering a thousand times, business owners were suffering a thousand times more. It's almost Tet and I see all the news about fire, oh my god.
On the same day, news sites reported that a 16-seat car was parked on Nguyen Van Tang Street (Long Thanh My Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) when it suddenly burned down.
Initial information, at about 11 o'clock on the same day, the male driver drove a 16-seat car on Nguyen Van Tang street, from Nguyen Xien street to Le Van Viet street (Thu Duc city). When about 300 meters from Le Van Viet Street (Long Thanh My Ward), the male driver discovered that the car had unusual signs, so he pulled over to the side of the road and escaped safely. Discovering the incident, people in the area helped the driver put out the fire but failed. The fire rose high and spread to surrounding power lines, and the area also lost power. Smoke and heat from the fire spread out. The fire caused local traffic congestion on Nguyen Van Tang street.
According to witnesses, at the time of the fire, this vehicle was not carrying people. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, but the car was destroyed by fire and burned to the frame.
Receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Thu Duc City Police coordinated with relevant units to blockade, regulate traffic, and handle the 16-seat car fire.
By about 11:30 a.m. on January 20, the fire was completely extinguished. The cause of the car fire is still being clarified by authorities.
