VietNamNet reported that on the afternoon of May 15, the Ministry of Public Security held a conference to review the project to destroy a ring of illegal trading and transporting of banned substances using military weapons. At the conference, much information related to the project was revealed.

Up to now, 17 subjects have been arrested and prosecuted for 6 crimes and a large amount of evidence has been seized including 38 Hero cakes, 6 cars, 3 guns, 154 bullets, 1 grenade, and 10 detonators.

In particular, the Quang Ninh Provincial Police and local police have directed the mobilization of maximum forces and means, synchronously and drastically deployed professional measures, and coordinated timely operations, thereby arresting 3 fugitives in a short time (more than 24 hours). The arrest of the especially dangerous wanted criminal Bui Dinh Khanh has been recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Committee, the government and the people.

In addition, the work of informing, propagating and orienting public opinion on the results of the fight against the special case has created a very positive ripple effect in society about the heroic sacrifice of Major Nguyen Dang Khai in particular and the People's Public Security force in the fight against drug-related crimes in general.
