According to the police, when the fire broke out, there were 7 people in the house. Three people escaped on their own, including the homeowner, his son and daughter. Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung (60 years old, living in the house next door) said that when he discovered smoke and fire broke out, many people used bricks, stones and hammers to break the window but failed. According to Mr. Thai, people need to pay attention to issues when building and arranging household furniture. "Absolutely do not store flammable chemicals, do not leave flammable goods, objects, or utensils near fire or heat sources. Arrange furniture and objects in the house scientifically so as not to obstruct them. escape routes in the house," Mr. Thai advised.

According to the recommendations of Hanoi City Police, for the housing and business model, each household should proactively prepare escape plans for family members, especially for the elderly. and young children in case of fire.

In addition, each household needs to plan other escape routes besides the main door such as balconies and terraces. Do not install iron cages or iron nets on the railings of multi-storey houses. In case of arranging cages and iron nets, there must be an emergency exit door, and the key must be placed in a visible, easy-to-reach position and agreed upon by all family members.
