About 20 residents joined forces to remove a car from a fire at a café in Tan Phu district, Ho Chi Minh City. The fire damaged several items in the home. The cause of the fire is being clarified by authorities.

Around 12h, smoke and fire emanated from the café of about 100m2, which is closed, located on Tan Huong Street, Tan Quy Ward. Many residents used mini fire extinguishers to put out the fire initially but failed. The fire spread to several air-conditioned heaters and signs, flaring violently next to the pickup truck.

Unable to find the owner, nearly 20 people combined to pull and push the car away from the fire. Nguyen Loc, who lives next door to the burning house, said that at first when he saw many sparks hitting cars, some people pushed the car but did not roll, then people came to support more so they moved the car to avoid the fire spreading. "They were quick to push the cart so they avoided damage," Loc said.

Several fire engines and nearly 40 soldiers arrived at the scene. Police pulled water cannons to put out the fire after 30 minutes, while also preventing the fire from spreading to the house next door. The fire caused no casualties, but destroyed many of the bar's furniture, tables and chairs, and dispensing equipment.

According to residents living in the area, the homeowner's truck opened the café. He had two cars parked in front of his house. This morning the owner was driving one car to work, the other was in front of the store when something went wrong. The shop stopped operating a few months ago so it was unattended.

At the scene, officers secured the lobby of the house, which contained multiple belongings and four motorcycles. However, the back of the house on the 1st floor was damaged by the fire.
