The case of 4 Vietnamese citizens who died in an apartment in Taiwan shook public opinion of the two countries. The worst thing is that the silver-headed people have to see off the blue-headed people. The cause may be gas poisoning.
According to the Taipei Times, the Yangmai District Police, under the Taoyuan Police Department, revealed that at around 12 o'clock on May 3, the authorities received a request to check people staying in a rental apartment in this district. The requester said friends have been unable to contact them for days.
Arriving at the place, the police found that 4 Vietnamese (2 males, 2 females) had died. At the scene, the police found a victim lying on the floor, hot water was still flowing, and the doors and windows were closed. The other 3 were in different bedrooms. The house showed no signs of burglary, break-in or conflict. There were no wounds on their bodies. Preliminary investigation results said that the cause of death could be gas poisoning.
The hypothesis was that these 4 people lived in a closed space, lacked ventilation, encountered odorless, colorless carbon monoxide (CO), which often arises when using a gas water heater, so they did not know that they were in danger. The prosecutors received an autopsy request to find out and confirm the cause of the incident. Surrounding surveillance cameras will be considered for investigation.
The identities of the victims were identified as: N.V.L. (22 years old), N.T.H. (21 years old), P.T.T.M. (19 years old) residing in Ha Trach commune, Hai Phu, Bac Trach, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province and finally T.V.D. (27 years old, from Duc Thanh, Yen Thanh, Nghe An province).
Meanwhile, according to Tien Phong newspaper, Mr. Hoang Minh Thai - Chairman of the People's Committee of Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province revealed that until the morning of May 6, the locality had not received an official document from the authorities about this heartbreaking incident. The whole village was choked up.
Among the victims, N.T.H. was revealed to be a young mother who left her hometown to earn a living with the desire to change her life. The news that H. passed away forever in Taiwan has covered the mourning on the deteriorated level 4 house over time in Hai Phu commune (Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province).
Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (H.'s father), choked up and shared: "She finished grade 12 and got married. Life was too difficult, he and his wife borrowed money to go to Taiwan to make a living. The child is left to both parents to take care of." According to him, H. has only been in Taiwan for more than 4 months, working in a plastic tray factory.
Although she went to export labor with her husband, due to the nature of her work, H. and her partner had to live more than 100km away from each other, and could only meet on weekends. Recounting the moment he received the bad news, the father could not hold back his tears and said: "On the night of Saturday, May 3, when I heard that my son was in distress, I was in a lot of pain, the emotion of losing my child with a cramped heart every time."
"Before, in the evening, H. called home to see his little son's face on the phone. The boy who had just learned to speak, still called 'mommy' through the screen. Now that his mother is gone, he kept looking at his mother's photo in a daze, and then babbled and asked. Adults look at me speechlessly," Mr. Hung choked up.
In a simple house, Ms. Do Thi Moo (80 years old, H.'s grandmother) sat in worship by a tray of cold rice. Today's meal has a pot of sour soup that H. likes to eat, but the person lying in Taiwan will no longer come back. Mrs. Mo burst into tears: "Mrs. H. promised to earn money to buy her a new shirt and visit her children. Now I am back to my ancestors before this old woman. It's very painful!".
H.'s family said that they are currently waiting for information from her son-in-law and the authorities to carry out procedures to bring her back to Vietnam. Because the situation is too difficult, the family hopes that individuals and organizations will join hands to donate and support the cost so that they can take care of the funeral for their ill-fated child.
