However, in recent days, from Facebook to TikTok, images and status lines related to "Truong My Lan's treasure" have appeared densely. Many people carelessly invite each other to follow the trend even though this action carries many risks and even violates the law.

Lawyer Giang Hong Thanh (Lawyer defending Ms. Truong My Lan) has just submitted a request for handling violations of the Law on Cyber Security to the Department of Cyber Security and Crime Prevention using high technology - Ministry of Public Security. ; Department of Broadcasting, Television and Electronic Information - Ministry of Information and Communications Ho Chi Minh City People's Court, Supreme People's Procuracy and sent to the Investigation Police Agency (C03) - Ministry of Public Security.

In the application, Attorney Thanh stated that from March 5 to April 11, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court brought the case at Van Thinh Phat Group, SCB Bank and related units to first instance trial. Throughout the settlement process, all defendants and other participants in the proceedings had an attitude of respect and cooperation with the jury, Procuracy and professional units.

However, after the first instance trial, a clip appeared that incorporated and distorted the conversation between the presiding judge and Ms. Truong My Lan. That clip has now created a fever, even going viral, creating a search trend on social networking platforms.

According to Lawyer Thanh, even though it is a cut-and-paste clip, it was done meticulously and methodically; creates bad public opinion and reduces the majesty of the court. Not only that, the clip insulted Ms. Lan's honor, reputation, and dignity. And there is no such thing as Ms. Truong My Lan saying 673,000 billion VND is offshore. Because this is the amount calculated by the jury after trial and stated in the sentencing section.

To prevent negative impacts from continuing to happen to people and society, lawyer Giang Hong Thanh requests agencies to verify, investigate and clarify violations, and strictly handle those who commit the acts to deter them. general threats and precautions, avoiding similar situations that may occur in the future.

In addition, the lawyer hopes the Department of Broadcasting, Television and Electronic Information requires the individuals who posted the clip and the management organizations to remove this clip from their accounts, social networking platforms and websites.

Talking to the press, lawyer Giang Hong Thanh affirmed that there was no such thing as Ms. Truong My Lan saying 673 trillion VND was offshore.

Previously, according to Mr. Ngo Minh Hieu (cyber security and digital investigation specialist at the Vietnam Information Security Monitoring Center): "This trend brings negativity, in the long run it makes many people mistakenly think that Truong My Lan really has treasure at sea. Furthermore, it also affects the case because it is fake news," Mr. Hieu added.

Regarding the issue of some famous people such as artists and influential KOLs also following the trend, Hieu PC warns that one should not follow.

"Social network users, both ordinary people and celebrities, need to be careful about the information shared on social networks, and must check whether the information is correct or not.
