In court, the defendant always respected the testimony, even asked the Trial Council to mitigate the charges of the defendants who are employees at SCB and Van Thinh Phat Group; not crooked, blaming them. Truong My Lan only asked the jury to delineate the role between the defendant and relevant departments at SCB.

Defendant Truong My Lan also asked the JSC to acknowledge the defendant's willingness and personal commitment to put assets outside the list of disclosure to remedy the consequences of the case. Request the Procuracy to record that the defendant has paid VND 5 billion in November 2023, wishes to transfer VND 1,350 billion to Truong Hue Van and transfer VND 300 billion to her husband Chu Lap Co to repair the damage.

"My husband lent the Times Square building but sentenced him to 10-11 years in prison. Truong Huiyun is a niece, I consider as my own son, specializing in charity work during the Covid-19 epidemic, because I trust the defendant and is involved in criminal liability. Now ask the court to consider waiving Zhou Lijie and Zhang Huiyun of criminal liability," Lan said.

Truong My Lan said that in the counter-argument, VKS still maintained the position of accusing the defendant, saying that the defendant crooked, denied guilt, blamed subordinates ... According to defendant Lan, VKS has not reviewed and updated the development of the questioning part of the JSC.

"I have taken my problems seriously as a shareholder of SCB Bank. In court, I expressed respect for the testimony, even asked the Labor Council to mitigate the charges of the defendants who are employees at SCB and Van Thinh Phat Group... not crooked, blaming them. I would only like to consider my personal role at SCB Bank," Lan said.

The defendant admitted his role as a majority shareholder of SCB. Truong My Lan proposed to consider the defendant's participation in the restructuring at the request of the State Bank of Vietnam and asked to consider difficulties in the SCB restructuring process.

According to defendant Lan, for 10 years SCB did not use state money. Before the case, SCB was operating normally, investors had been constructing the Red Light Cape project... But the opportunity was missed due to the defendant's arrest. Friends and relatives lost faith to withdraw money in a hurry.
