Specifically, everyone from workers to leaders will receive stock bonuses from Truong My Lan in 2022, the most will be up to 100 billion VND, but now, the woman does not remember this specifically. Ms. Lan also forgot to support employees who quit their jobs with 2 billion or 20 billion VND.

On the morning of March 13, the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City continued to allow lawyers to interrogate the defendants in the case of giving and receiving bribes, violating lending regulations, being irresponsible causing serious consequences, and taking advantage of their positions. The incident happened at SCB Bank, Van Thinh Phat Group.

Lawyer Nguyen Van Quynh, defending defendant Truong Khanh Hoang, former General Director of SCB, asked Truong My Lan, Chairman of Van Thinh Phat, about the relationship between the two people and why she awarded Hoang 10 million. shares (equivalent to 100 billion VND).

Defendant Lan said that although she had the same surname Truong, she and Hoang were not relatives; He used to work at SCB, but "didn't pay much attention to what he did".

The reason for the share bonus, Truong My Lan stated, was that the bank was preparing to list and had Japanese and Singaporean partners buying shares. Ms. Lan believes that the bank employees have worked for a long time, some have worked for 20 years, so she wanted to give them shares, just in time for her to buy shares from a "friend going abroad".

Truong My Lan declared that she then requested a bonus for all bank employees, from security guards, cleaning staff to senior leaders like defendant Hoang, and that this "had no purpose".

The lawyer asked what is the procedure for granting shares, and which department is it carried out? Defendant Lan replied "I don't remember, I forgot" and the administrative staff in charge of this matter she no longer remembers the name. The woman, however, confirmed that she spent "pocket money" to buy employee bonus shares and did not take money from SCB.

Truong Khanh Hoang declared that she was awarded 10 million shares by Ms. Lan in August 2022, even though she had just quit her job. The reason for being rewarded was because at that time, SCB intended to restructure and list and Hoang had a "history of attachment to SCB".

In addition, Hoang also used his own money to buy more SCB shares, which he has now partly sold, leaving 9.8 million shares remaining. He asked the court to use these shares to "voluntarily pay to remedy" the consequences.

In the case, Truong Khanh Hoang was accused of helping Truong My Lan prepare false loan documents and withdraw money from SCB Bank, causing losses of more than 65,004 billion VND.

Lawyer Nguyen Van Hau, defending defendant Bui Anh Dung, questioned Truong My Lan about whether the defendant was the one who chose defendant Dung to be Chairman of SCB?

Defendant Lan replied no, so the lawyer quoted her testimony at the investigation agency, showing that in 2020, former SCB Chairman Dinh Van Thanh had to take his wife and children abroad for medical treatment, so he brought defendant Dung to meet Lan. suggested that Dung become president because of his "gentleness".

"No. Mr. Thanh just told me that he would let Dung be the Chairman while he took his wife and children for treatment," Truong My Lan said.

Regarding the year 2020 - 2021, Ms. Lan gave defendant Dung 20 billion VND as a Tet bonus, the woman also confirmed that this was not the case.

"Truong Muoi" explained: "The defendant remembers, Dung's wife and children also work at SCB. The defendant told Dung, you are the Chairman, it would be very strange for the president's wife to work here, please let your wife rest, Then slowly, I'll give you this money. I don't remember whether I gave Dung 2 billion or 20 billion."
