Around 4:30 p.m. on January 10, in the production forest land planning area, where there were grasses and reeds on Co Tien Mountain, suddenly caught fire. Initially, a small fire appeared, but a short while later, due to strong winds, the fire flared up, spreading about a kilometer and many surrounding areas, tending to spread eastward (where people are located). live).

Seen from a distance, the fire stretched for many kilometers, lighting up an area. People in the city could observe the fire spreading across the large mountain range.

The fire prevention and rescue police force of Nha Trang City Police mobilized a fire engine to the scene. In addition, a working group of about 50 people chaired by the Forest Ranger Department and many related units were also mobilized to prevent the fire. However, on the mountain, high winds, dry weather and many flammable plants caused the fire to break out and spread, making it difficult to extinguish the fire.

Mr. Tran Van Dong, Secretary of Vinh Hoa Ward, said: "The Co Tien Mountain area often had fires in the past. However, it has been more than 3 years since they reappeared.
