Thailand: Father abandons his young child to force his wife to be "close", uses banned substances, police intervene

The case shocked Thailand when the father ruthlessly abandoned his newborn, forced his wife and showed signs of using banned substances. This behavior caused outrage in public opinion, prompting the police to investigate to clarify.

Wuttichai, 21, was arrested by police and faces charges related to "mai thuy" after his criminal behavior was exposed on social media by his wife, Orathai, 22, on March 21, Thailand's Channel 7 reported.

Wuttichai took his two-week-old son to a banana orchard, took a picture of the baby lying on the ground and sent it to his wife, who was at a friend's house at the time. Many people believe that Wuttichai abandoned the newborn.

Shocked by her husband's behavior, Orathai immediately reported to the village chief to intervene, then posted the couple's exchange messages on social networks to expose her husband in public. Under pressure, Wuttichai brought the baby home safely. Police are opening an investigation into the family.

Orathai complained to the police that her husband not only practiced "prostitution" and gambling, but also constantly abused her and their older child, who was just over 1 year old. The couple quarreled because she refused to be close to the couple immediately after giving birth.

Wuttichai denied the allegation, saying he only put his sleeping son in a banana orchard to take pictures and had no intention of abandoning him. The man admitted that he had repeatedly asked to be close to his wife but did not intend to leave the c.on to force his wife.

The police tested Wuttichai's urine and the result was positive for "mai thuy". Currently, Wuttichai faces charges related to "mai thuy" and will have to undergo a process of rehab in accordance with the law. The sentence for the act of abandoning a child under 9 years old in case of not causing further physical harm to the child can be up to 3 years in prison, the fine is 6,000 baht (about 4.5 million VND).

The man looked around the area before placing the plastic wrap on the ground near a parked car.

A video obtained by Mexico's Tele Diario news agency shows paramedics caring for the baby as he is taken to the hospital. The baby is recovering and is being cared for by Mexico's National Comprehensive Family Development System.

The baby's mother, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Mexican news channel Telediario that she was five months pregnant and went into labor while working.

"The baby was born later. I panicked and didn't know what to do," the young mother recounted.

"I gave him to his father. He said he was going to take him away," she recounted.

The woman thought that her boyfriend would take the child to the hospital, but after reading on social media, she learned that the baby was abandoned on the street.

The woman told the news agency she was not under criminal investigation, but was not informed whether she would be granted custody of her son. Mexico's Attorney General's Office is directing the investigation.
