On April 3, information from the Fire and Rescue Police Department (Ministry of Public Security), as of the morning of the same day, the rescue team of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam had found a total of 4 victims at the locations in the earthquake that occurred in Myanmar.
According to the police, in the past 3 days, all cases of searching for relatives of the delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam (BCA) are situations with difficult and complicated scenes. Many rescue teams from all over the world came to survey but left, leaving the increasing expectations of the victims' families.
In the face of these difficult situations, the rescue team of the Ministry of Public Security is still determined to find a solution, not living up to the expectations of Myanmar families.
Accompanying the delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam (BCA) were 2 service dogs, Bin (7 years old, 6 years in the military) and King (6 years old, 5 years in the military), to support the search for people trapped under the rubble and rugged terrain. Officials working at the scene informed that on the first day of working in Myanmar, the scene of 2 apartment buildings collapsed on the entire 1st floor, the remaining floors were crushed to the 1st floor.
The scene was large, the concrete block was large and heavy, and the smell of gas was strong. Given that fact, it is very important to determine the exact location of the enemy.
On the 2nd working day (i.e. 1-4), the delegation continued to use 2 professional dogs to determine the location of 2 people. Every time they drill and dig into the scene a little, the functional forces use professional dogs to relocate the people. Through many times of work, the professional dogs all responded to the correct position, thereby helping the rescue team find the trapped victims.
After 4 working days, the Head of the delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam recognized and appreciated the role of professional dogs in search and rescue, contributing to saving time and effort for the forces participating in the rescue.
It is expected that today (3/4) the rescue team will search for 4 people. Currently, professional dogs have been used to find 1 location, the forces are looking for ways to dismantle drilling, chiseling and continue to use professional dogs to check.
According to the police, the earthquake in Myanmar has been going on for 6 days, the capital of Myanmar Naypyidaw at the moment there are still tens of thousands of people living in the sky shining on the ground, without electricity, lack of clean water, lack of essential necessities and medical care.
Therefore, the relief team of the Ministry of Public Security in the process of searching for victims, also dispatched working groups to support the stabilization of people's lives in the camps.
After the earthquake, the Taw Win Yadanar school yard in the town of Zabuthiri became a makeshift camp. About 200 people live here in extremely deprived conditions.
The devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on Friday killed more than 2,800 people and injured thousands more. Up to now, the number of injured has reached more than 3,900 people and about 270 people are still missing. Officials are concerned that many more people are trapped under collapsed buildings in many areas across Myanmar. In Thailand, dozens of people are also believed to be burie.d after the collapse of a high-rise building under construction.
The aftershocks from the earthquake spread for hundreds of kilometers, even clearly felt in the capital Bangkok (Thailand), more than 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) from the epicenter.
According to scientists, this disaster originated from a rare phenomenon called a "supershear fault" - a type of fault that travels at a speed faster than the seismic waves it generates, causing energy to be concentrated in front of the crack. This phenomenon usually causes a much greater degree of devastation and affects a much wider area than conventional earthquakes.
"The phenomenon of supersonic fault can be likened to a supersonic jet in the world of earthquakes. This type of fault causes seismic energy to radiate extremely strongly in the direction of the crack," said seismologist Frederik Tilmann of the GFZ Helmholtz Center for Earth Sciences (Germany).
Scientists said the geological fault that caused the earthquake was the Sagaing Great Fault Zone, located between the Myanmar and Sunda tectonic plates. It is a north-to-south tectonic structure that regulates the northward movement of the Indian subcontinent and western Myanmar compared to the rest of Southeast Asia.
