After the police started investigating, the identities of the five young men who directly attacke.d the femal.e studen.t were confirmed. In addition, the statements of the gir.l and her mother also made everyone angry.
During the fight, AT was beaten by the opposing group using combs, sandals and helmets, causing injuries. Specifically, sharing on TTO on the evening of February 19, the leader of Hoang Mai District Police (Hanoi City) said that the Criminal Police Department had detained 3 suspects to investigate the act of intentionally causing injury.
According to the investigation documents, at around 7:00 p.m. on February 16, Ms. T. (residing in Nghia Tan Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi) went to Yen So Ward Police (Hoang Mai District) to report that on February 15, her daughter, NVAT (born in 2008), was beaten and injured by a group of teenagers on the banks of the Set River, in Thinh Liet Ward (Hoang Mai District) and the lake area in Yen So Ward.
According to Nguoi Lao Dong, Hoang Mai District Police have investigated and clarified the 5 young men and teenagers who participated in the beatin.g and injury of AT, including: QGH (born in 2009, residing in Ba Dinh District, Hanoi); NPA (born in 2008, residing in Hoang Mai District, Hanoi); MBA (born in 2010, residing in Dong Da District, Hanoi); NXNT (born in 2008, residing in Ha Dong District, Hanoi); D.MD (born in 2008, residing in Ly Thai To Ward, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi).
The investigation results showed that AT and NXNT had a conflict over love, which led to an argument between AT and NXNT. On February 15, AT took the initiative to ask NXNT to come to a coffee shop at 987 Tam Trinh, Yen So ward to talk. AT invited 7 more friends to go with him. When they met, one of AT's group approached and slapped NT. After being beaten, NT immediately called 5 friends to come and support, which led to the above incident.
The gir.l in the incident is a young woman named L. who is studying at a college in Hanoi. The gir.l said that the incident happened on the evening of February 15. Recalling the evening of the incident, L. shared that at that time, she went out for a drink with two friends and encountered H.'s group. Due to a previous conflict, the two sides had an argument at the cafe.
When L. and her friend left the restaurant, H. called someone to chas.e them and block the road at the Set River bank (in Hoang Mai district, Hanoi). Here, H. loudly invited L. to physically attac.k them, but the gir.l refused. "H.'s group went on about 10 motorbikes, blocking our road. Right after I refused to fight with H., he jumped in and bea.t me. My friend tried to stop me but was stopped by the group of people with H.," L. recalled.
Because the road was crowded, H.'s group quickly left. However, before they could go far, H.'s group continued to block the road, forcing L. and her friend to move to Dieu Hoa Lake - a deserted place with no houses or passersby. Here, H. continued to call other people. Afterwards, L. was beaten by many people in H.'s group. The gir.l's friends tried to intervene but were stopped.
"Among those who bea.t me, there were people I didn't know at all. There was a bo.y wearing glasses who I knew who had dropped out of school. He was called later and also joined in the beatin.g," L. said. The 17-year-old gir.l said that after the beatin.g, the group made her knee.l down and apologize to each person who bea.t her. "At that time, I was so panicked that I had to listen to what H.'s group said. I had to apologize to strangers, even people I didn't know," L. recounted.
Talking about the conflicts with H., L. added: "Before, we knew each other and played together, without any conflicts. When the bo.y that H. liked expressed on social media that he liked me, he got angry. I also explained to H. that there was nothing between me and the bo.y, but H. still found an excuse to cause trouble. We had conflicts so we stopped playing together."
Ms. T. (the gir.l's mother) indignantly said: "Instead of stopping them, more than 40 people present cheered, then recorded the video and sent it to many people. They didn't stop there, they even posted it on social media to show off. I couldn't watch the video for more than 10 seconds because these people bea.t my daughter too much."
