The case of a male shipper being "corrected" by a Lexus driver: still panicking, often having nightmares

Even though a week has passed since the incident, the male shipper still feels scared when he remembers that time and has trouble sleeping at night due to the injury. His wife said that the situation was difficult and her husband was gentle, but she did not think that this would happen.

About a week after the incident of a male shipper being beaten by a Lexus driver in Hanoi, on February 17, Ms. Nguyen Thi Luong (29 years old, wife of Mr. Hung - the beaten male shipper) said that her husband's health has shown positive changes after being treated and cared for at the hospital.

"My husband's health is a little better now, he can eat a little rice and can communicate with people. However, my husband still has headaches, dizziness and cannot walk. He is still mentally panicked and haunted by the beatin.g," said Ms. Luong.

Ms. Luong said that in the first days of hospitalization, the pain from the bruise made Mr. Hung unable to sleep. Witnessing that, she felt sorry but did not know what to do other than comfort and care for him. "My husband has only been able to sleep a little these past few days, but he often talks nonsense. Sometimes when I saw him suddenly wake up with a panicked look on his face, I asked him and he said he dreamed that he was beaten. Seeing me so worried, yesterday he said he would try to stay calm so as not to affect his health.

I know my husband is still haunted by the beatin.g, sometimes I feel heartbroken but there is nothing I can do other than comfort him, advise him not to think about it anymore, think of more positive things to recover quickly", after saying that, Ms. Luong burst into tears, quickly turned away for fear that her husband would see.

Sharing about her family's situation, Ms. Luong confided that before, her husband was as healthy as any other normal person. In 2018, an unfortunate incident happened when Mr. Hung worked as a woodcutter for a carpentry workshop in his hometown, causing him to lose his left hand. "There was little work in the countryside and it was mostly heavy work, and even if he did, he wouldn't be able to do much because he was not as healthy as others. When he came to Hanoi, my husband applied for jobs in many places but was rejected. When he applied for a job at a bakery, knowing the family's situation, the owner pitied him and hired him to do delivery work," Ms. Luong said.

According to Life & Law, Mr. Hung is still weak and speaks in a whisper. He said that since the incident, he has often had dreams of being beaten, and he suddenly woke up in a state of panic. "Many times while I was sleeping, my wife came in to wake me up, which also startled me," Mr. Hung said. The male shipper confided that he hopes that after he recovers, he will continue to work as a shipper at the bakery. However, he is still worried about having to face the Lexus driver's relatives.

According to Vietnamnet, on February 10, Mr. Le Xuan Hung filed a report about being beaten by a man driving a 5-seat Lexus car with his feet, hands, and helmet, causing injuries in front of the house at 41B, alley 50/310 Nghi Tam (Yen Phu ward, Tay Ho district). Tay Ho district police identified the Lexus driver who bea.t Mr. Le Xuan Hung as Tong Anh Tuan. Assessing the above incident, Dr. and lawyer Dang Van Cuong, Head of Chinh Phap Law Firm, said that the investigation agency and Tay Ho district police initiated a criminal case and detained the Lexus driver Tong Anh Tuan in an emergency.

Citing Dan Tri newspaper, according to the lawyer, the progress of the clip shows that Mr. Tuan's behavior was intentional to cause injury, in just 30 seconds, this person hit nearly 20 times. As a result, the male shipper was injured in the head and face. In the incident where Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung (31 years old, delivery staff) was "impacted" by Lexus driver Tong Anh Tuan (43 years old, in Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi) on the afternoon of February 10, camera data showed that during the incident, the male shipper did not have any resistance and had to endure nearly 20 blows from Tuan in about 30 seconds, leading to a disability rate of 3%.
