A clip has appeared on social media showing an officer and several other people gathering to gamble, with many bills on the mat. An insider has spoken out about the images.

According to Dan Tri newspaper, on the evening of February 9, on Facebook, images and clips appeared with the content that Long Chau Commune Party Secretary - Nguyen Ba Canh, two Vice Chairmen of the Commune People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thach and Nguyen Van Hung, Mr. Nguyen Van Trien - Chairman of the Fatherland Front of Long Chau Commune and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Lanh - Secretary of Ngo Xa Village were said to have gambled for money.

The post included many pictures, showing a man in a blue shirt, believed to be Mr. Nguyen Ba Canh - Secretary of the Long Chau Commune Party Committee, and a group of people holding many cards in their hands, with many bills appearing under the mat. It is currently unclear when the above clips were filmed.

On the afternoon of February 11, speaking with VOV.VN, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thach, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Long Chau commune, admitted that he was the man wearing the blue shirt in the image circulating online, and the woman wearing the black shirt in the photo was his wife.

"The photo is indeed me and my wife, however, the clothes my wife and I wore were about 7-8 years ago," Mr. Thach informed and added a photo of his wife wearing the exact same clothes as in the image circulating on social media, taken in December 2018 while hanging out with friends. When asked if it was true that the people in the photo were gambling with money, Mr. Thach said "I can't remember".

According to Mr. Thach, the commune leader has asked the authorities to examine the image on social networks. He said that this image has been edited a lot and it has greatly affected him and other officials there. The Vice Chairman of the Long Chau Commune People's Committee added that the Party Secretary of the commune has reported to his superiors and at the same time asked the police to investigate.

In 2018, Mr. Thach was then the commune police chief. He has not yet made a recommendation to his superiors and is waiting for the police to investigate. "Currently, the Party Secretary of Long Chau commune has reported to his superiors and requested the police to investigate. The images posted on social media have greatly affected me as well as other cadres there." That afternoon, the reporter spoke by phone with Mr. Nguyen Ba Canh, the commune Party Secretary, but he said he was busy and could not answer.

As VOV Online Newspaper reported, previously, images and clips appeared on social media with the content of many leaders of Long Chau commune allegedly gambling. Below the mat were many bills with different denominations.

Also according to Dan Tri newspaper, when contacting the Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee Nguyen Hong Thach, Mr. Thach said he was not aware of the incident. "We only gamble and eat fruit," Mr. Thach said over the phone.

Reporter asked: Money also appeared? Mr. Thach said: "This is money left over from buying fruit". Reporter called Mr. Nguyen Van Hung but Mr. Hung did not answer the phone. Responding to Dan Viet, a leader of Long Chau Commune Police informed: "The unit just got the information when it appeared on social networks, now we have to verify. We will report to the District Police to clarify".

Mr. Hoang Ba Huy, Secretary of Yen Phong District Party Committee, said that on the afternoon of February 10, the Standing Committee of Yen Phong District Party Committee met and requested the Long Chau Commune Party Committee to report and explain today. "We also assigned the District Police to verify and clarify this clip. After that, the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee will meet to review, evaluate and conclude," Mr. Huy emphasized.

The post included many pictures, including a man in a blue shirt believed to be Mr. Nguyen Ba Canh, Secretary of the Long Chau Commune Party Committee. In addition, the clip also included many other people believed to be some leaders of Long Chau Commune. It is currently unclear when the clips were filmed. After receiving the information, Long Chau Commune Police reported to the leaders of Yen Phong District Police to verify and clarify.
