The Investigation Police Agency of Binh Chanh District Police (Ho Chi Minh City) has initiated a case and prosecuted Tran Minh Hoang (born 1990, residing in Hanoi) for the crime of "Intentionally causing injury".

Tran Minh Hoang was identified as the person who interacted with Ms. KN (born in 1991), resulting in the victi.m being seriously injured. According to the results of the examination from the Ho Chi Minh City Forensic Center after nearly 2 months of the incident, the injury caused to the victi.m was up to 23%.

According to CAND, Ms. KN is divorce.d and has a daughter. In February 2024, Ms. N. met Hoang when they worked together at the same company. During this time, Hoang shared about his ex-girlfriend and his past. After a broken relationship, meeting Hoang made Ms. N. fall in love, accept to date and fall in love with Hoang.

However, on March 23, 2024, Ms. KN discovered that Hoang had relationships with many other women, so she asked Hoang to make an appointment for the parties to meet to clarify and end the relationship with Hoang.

On March 26, 2024, Ms. KN, Hoang and another woman were at a coffee shop on 9A Street, Binh Hung Commune, Binh Chanh District. There, Hoang and Ms. N. got into a loud argument. Hoang showed a defiant attitude and said: "I just met you as a passerby, so what if I took advantage of you for a while?".

Angered by these words, Ms. KN threw a glass of water at Hoang's face. Immediately, Hoang rushed to interact with Ms. KN, causing the victi.m to collapse and bleed profusely.

The incident only stopped when the coffee shop staff asked Hoang to leave the shop, but Hoang still waited to meet and threatened Ms. KN. The entire incident was recorded by the shop's security camera.

After the incident, Ms. KN was taken to the Nam Sai Gon International General Hospital by local people for emergency treatment and then transferred to Cho Ray Hospital for further treatment. On the same day, the victi.m went to the police station to report the incident and provide information.

Two days later, Ms. KN experienced headaches, tinnitus, and vomiting. Doctors at the ENT Hospital diagnosed her with internal bleedin.g, ethmoidal hematoma, deviated nasal septum, and broken orbital bone.

On April 1, 2024, the victi.m went to Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital and was diagnosed with reduced vision and required surgery.

During the treatment of her injuries, Ms. N. had to be transferred to 4 hospitals for treatment. At the same time, Ms. N. was also taken for injury assessment. In September 2024, the police announced that Ms. N.'s body injury rate was 23%.

Previously, a 1-minute clip recorded a tall man approaching and continuously using his hands and feet to punc.h and knee a gir.l in the face and head, making many people angry.

In particular, when discovering the incident, about 7 people in the coffee shop rushed to stop it, but the man was too aggressive, still hitting the gir.l lying on the ground many times. At this time, the victi.m fainted. When the gir.l tried to sit up, the man rushed to hit the victi.m's head again.

Ms. N. said that her health is still not stable, her blurred vision affects her work as a designer. In addition, the cost of treatment is very high. Of which, the cost of eye surgery is 35 million VND, the cost of medicine is nearly 100 million VND, not including the cost of nose surgery and the cost of the upcoming eye surgery.

"Currently, I have sinus complications due to a deviated nasal septum. Half of my face cannot move normally and I have to have regular acupuncture," Ms. N. shared.

In the petition for criminal proceedings against Hoang, Ms. N. requested that Mr. Hoang compensate for damages for the costs of treatment, care, health recovery and lost or reduced functions; actual lost income; compensation for mental damage; and other damages as prescribed by law.

"Now I just wait for the day to walk with him, not at the wedding but in the criminal court, where he is the defendant, and I am the victi.m, between us is not the priest but the jury, on my right there is no father holding my hand but only a defense lawyer", Ms. N. shared.
