The case of a husband dumping his wife's headless body in Quang Nam: the crime process causes outrage

The Provincial Police Department has issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Tran Bao Uyen (born in 1962; residing at Group 23, Nai Hien Dong Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang City) to investigate the crime of murde.r.

This is the subject who kille.d his wife and then dismembered her body and dumped it in the sea to hide his crime. According to Colonel Xuan, just 2 days after discovering the victi.m, the investigation agency identified the main suspect as Tran Bao Uyen and urgently arrested him.

According to Colonel Tran Van Xuan, on February 10, Nui Thanh District Police received information that a missing person had washed up on the beach, so they reported it to Quang Nam Provincial Police.

The Criminal Police Department quickly took action, coordinating with PC09 Department and Quang Nam Provincial People's Procuracy, and Nui Thanh District Police to examine the scene.

Through examination and investigation of the scene, the authorities determined that this was not a normal drifting case but a case of body disposal. Using professional measures, the authorities determined the victi.m's name and ag.e to be in Nai Hien Dong ward, Son Tra district, Da Nang city.

After identifying the victi.m, Quang Nam Provincial Police sent a number of experienced investigators to coordinate with the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police to investigate the case.

Through identification, the relationship between the victi.m and her husband is complicated. After verification at Nai Hien Dong Ward Police, it was determined that Tran Bao Uyen is also a complicated subject in the locality. The police determined that the victi.m's phone was still ringing in the couple's house but no one answered.

"Normally, cell phones follow people. Why was the victi.m's phone at home? From that, we can conclude that the victi.m's house is where the crime took place," said Colonel Tran Van Xuan.

After that, the homeowner Tran Bao Uyen was invited to Nai Hien Dong Ward Police Station for questioning, and at the same time, a detective team discovered many unusual bloo.d stains in the kitchen. After collecting many authentic evidences, the police issued an emergency arrest warrant for Tran Bao Uyen and brought him to Quang Nam Provincial Police Station for further investigation.

However, Uyen did not immediately admit to her crime. Continuing to collect more evidence and fight with the subject, on February 17, Tran Bao Uyen admitted her crime.

"After the subject admitted to the crime, we completed the procedure to prosecute the case, prosecute the defendant, and temporarily detain Tran Bao Uyen," said Colonel Tran Van Xuan.

Checking the victi.m's home camera, it was discovered that at 8:30 a.m. on February 6, the victi.m was at home with her husband. At 9:58 a.m., the camera lost signal. The police checked the cameras in the surrounding area and discovered many related evidences and traces. Thereby, the suspect was identified as Tran Bao Uyen.

Subject Tran Bao Uyen confessed that due to conflicts in daily life between the couple, at around 9:00 a.m. on February 6, Uyen used a weapo.n to force Ms. Truong Thi T. Tr. to pass away at her residence (Nai Hien Dong ward, Son Tra district, Da Nang city) and then used 'cold goods' to dismembe.r the victi.m's body. After that, he put the body and the weapo.n in a blanket, wrapped it in a mattress, and put it in a plastic bag and took it to the end of Le Van Duyet street, Son Tra district, Da Nang city to hide.

At around 1 p.m. the same day, Uyen returned to the place where the body was hidden, put the body and the murde.r weapon on a boat (Uyen's boat used to rake clams was anchored on the shore next to the area where the body was hidden) and then drove the boat carrying the body and the murde.r weapon to the sea area near Tien Sa port, Son Tra district, Da Nang, and threw them into the sea to destroy the evidence.

Previously, Tam Quang commune police (Nui Thanh district) received a report from local people about the discovery of part of a body drifting ashore in An Hai Dong village (Tam Quang commune).
