Proposal and then assault on girlfriend: Revealing the young girl's painful text messages

Regarding the case that occurred in a motel in Hoa Minh ward (Lien Chieu district, Da Nang) that caused a stir in public opinion, Da Nang City Police have issued a decision to prosecute the accused Phan Van Minh (27 years old, residing in Tan Lap commune, Kon Ray district, Kon Tum province).

Minh is the suspect who attacked Ms. YH (23 years old, residing in Dak Glei district, Kon Tum province). The initial cause is believed to be due to a love conflict, so Minh attacked his girlfriend. The wound caused Ms. H to die on the spot. Less than a day before, Minh had knelt down to propose to her. After committing the crime, Minh fled and attempted to end his life but failed.

After more than a week of the heartbreaking incident, Ms. H's relatives are still in pain and shock. According to Vietnamnet, Ms. Y Thiu (Ms. H's sister) revealed many more surprising details related to Ms. H and Minh. Accordingly, in 2020, H went to Da Nang to find a job to help her husband raise their children. But 2 years later, H and her husband divorced, bringing ND (4 years old) to live with her grandparents.

By Tet 2024, H met Phan Van Minh through social media. Minh came to H's house and stayed for many days. Because their daughter had been divorced once, the family did not forbid them from getting to know each other. However, H's family could not have imagined that Minh already had a wife and children and had been imprisoned.

Around March 2024, Minh went to Da Nang to live with YH. At first, he worked at a laundry shop. Not long after, Minh quit his job, and all living expenses were taken care of by H. During that time living together, H was "physically affected" by Minh many times, even locked in a rented room for many days, not allowed to go to work.

Ms. Y Thiu recounted that she and her husband once went to her sister's rented room to talk, but Minh locked the door to avoid them and did not let them meet. After that, whenever the two sisters talked or texted, they had to use their ethnic language to express themselves, to avoid Minh from understanding.

Not only that, Minh also sold his motorbike and tricked Ms. H into selling her Vision motorbike, borrowing another 10 million VND to buy a SH motorbike on installments. He let Ms. H have her name on it, but not long after buying it, Minh also sold the motorbike. That time, this boyfriend also sold Ms. H's phone.

"On August 28, knowing that my father was on his way to Da Nang, afraid that if YH met him, everything would be exposed, Minh persuaded my sister to quit her job and go back to Gia Lai to open a grocery store. At the same time, he called a car to transport the air conditioner, refrigerator, gas stove, and electric fan (purchased by YH before) all up there, so the two of them could not meet each other," Ms. Y Thiu recounted.

After 10 days in Gia Lai, Minh still "got physical" with Ms. H. On the night of September 7, H quickly grabbed her clothes and took advantage of the time when Minh was sleeping to escape to Kon Tum. According to Ms. Y Thiu, at around 7am on September 8, she received a text message from her sister with the following content: "I just left Gia Lai, I'm in Dak To. Tomorrow, if everything goes well, I'll go to Da Nang. If everything goes well, I'll go out there and find a job again. Please, Uncle Hai, don't hate NyNy (the girl's nickname at home - PV). "If anything happens to me, I hope Uncle Hai will love NyNy."

According to Ms. Y Thiu, after Minh reported to the police that YH stole the motorbike, through investigation and verification, the police determined that this was a case of running away to protect himself, so they did not prosecute him, but had to temporarily impound the motorbike because he did not have any papers.

"On the afternoon of October 15, after more than a month of peace, YH sent a gift and texted that he would not attend my son's birthday. Late that night, I saw a photo of two hands wearing rings, so I suspected that Minh had appeared. However, I thought that Minh did not dare to go to Da Nang, and the next morning my sister was harmed, which was extremely heartbreaking," Ms. Y Thiu choked up.

Regarding suspect Phan Van Minh, previously, sharing with Nguoi Lao Dong, Mr. Phan Van T. (49 years old, residing in Kon Ray district, Kon Tum province, Minh's biological father) said that his son had a wife and 3 sons. However, the couple has been separated for many years.

Previously, his son had brought Ms. YH home to play and introduced her as his girlfriend.

On the afternoon of October 16, Phan Van Minh called his family, asking to see his father. At that time, Minh said that he had acted foolishly: "I asked him where he was, but he didn't say. I advised him to stay calm, go to the hospital to have his stomach pumped for emergency treatment, then go to the police to confess, everything has a solution," said Mr. Phan Van T.
