Upon seeing the fire, those present shouted to try to get 12 trams to safety, 6 were also towed to prevent the fire from spreading but were badly scorched.
According to preliminary statistics, there were various vehicles with minor damage. At the scene this morning, after the fire had been extinguished, clouds of smoke were still smoldering and smoldering.
This is a car line with HC plates (restricted signs), specializing in transporting tourists in the fixed schedule of Hoi An city. The vehicle operates by dry battery ingots, provided by many domestic manufacturers for businesses.
"This vehicle uses batteries installed under the compartment to operate. Each new one, after adding tax and fees, has a total price of about 400 million VND.
The business is also ordering several dozen more. But the new car has not returned, the old car has burned, just in time for tourism to return," said a representative of the business that owns the burnt car.
At the time of the fire, the business said at dawn. The vehicle collection point is located in the Central Power College. There are always security guards on duty, security camera systems.
"Now everything is left to the police to investigate, but the business does not know the specifics. Whether the fire is caused by an electrical short, by ignition from another source or for whatever reason, we cannot say in advance.
Now the most important thing is that fires do not cause any loss of life. As for damaged property, we determine that this is a risk. In the short term, the business is having to negotiate with partners to handle shuttle contracts that are missed due to burning vehicles," the business representative added.
Talking to Tuoi Tre Online at noon 8-5, a representative of Cosevco Hoi An Joint Stock Company - the enterprise that owns the electric car fleet burned down on the same day - said that at the time of the fire, the cars were left in the yard preparing to run new shifts. The cars are full of electricity.
The charging of the car battery is also designed in a separate area.
According to the initial report of Cosevco Hoi An Joint Stock Company, at 5:30 am on May 8, in the campus of the boarding area of Central Power College (borrowed by the enterprise to gather cars at night) there was a fire incident.
The number of vehicles affected by the fire was 45 out of 52 parked in the same area.
At the time of the fire, company employees and the vehicle crew were not operating. The area where the fire occurred vehicles were preparing to run a new shift.
"We initially assess that it may be due to a fire in the power line," Cosevco Hoi An Joint Stock Company said.
Speaking further to reporters, business representatives said that the battery used to run electric vehicles is a dry battery. After carrying passengers, the vehicle is returned to a separate location for charging.
