Quang Tri: Bank transaction room burns overnight, police investigate

Receiving a fire alarm from people at a bank transaction office in Quang Tri province at midnight, functional forces came to the scene to deploy firefighting work, preventing the fire from spreading to surrounding households.

According to Lao Dong newspaper, on the morning of April 6, according to the Police Department of Fire Protection and Rescue of Quang Tri Province, this unit has just extinguished a fire at a bank transaction office in Quang Tri town.

Earlier, at 0:27 on April 6, the Police Department of Fire Protection and Rescue of Quang Tri province received a report of a fire at the transaction office of a commercial bank with an address at Tran Hung Dao Street (Ward 3, Quang Tri town, Quang Tri province). The fire rose and quickly engulfed the 1st floor of the building.

Receiving the news, the functional forces dispatched 3 fire engines and dozens of officials and soldiers to the scene to deploy firefighting work, preventing the fire from spreading to surrounding households.

By 0:50 a.m. on the same day, authorities had brought the fire under control. By 1 a.m., the fire was completely extinguished.

Currently, the police of Quang Tri town are protecting the scene, serving the investigation of the cause of the fire.

The initial damage of the fire is still being counted.

Earlier, on the afternoon of April 5, according to information from Dan Tri, commander of the Fire and Rescue Police Team, Nam Tu Liem District Police (Hanoi), said that the fire occurred at about 11am at the construction materials dump at Lane 116 Me Tri Thuong, Me Tri Ward, Nam Tu Liem District.

"After receiving the tip, the authorities dispatched 5 fire engines and dozens of soldiers to the scene to extinguish the fire. By about 11:45 a.m. forces had contained and extinguished the fire," the commander said.

According to him, when approaching the scene, fire marshals organized a zoning to prevent the fire from spreading to people's houses and nearby areas.

The fire area is about 200m2. The fire caused no loss of life, property damage is being reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Earlier on social media, information appeared with pictures of a fire in the Mieu Dam area (Nam Tu Liem district). Many believe it was a house fire, with there could have been casualties when ambulances were dispatched to the scene. However, authorities determined the fire did not injure anyone.

He added that in hot weather, dry conditions and high temperatures increase the risk of fire and explosion. Therefore, it is extremely important for each citizen to raise their awareness of vigilance and equip fire prevention and fighting measures in the hot season.

For fire protection during the hot season, here are some important measures:

- Ensure safety when using heat sources: Limit the use of open heat sources such as fire, lamps, candles or burning garbage in hot weather. If it needs to be used, ensure safety and always monitor carefully to avoid the risk of fire.
