Some social network accounts have taken advantage of this trend to create links to hack users' Facebook accounts or use links to lure and appropriate property.

Lawyer Tran Minh Hung, Ho Chi Minh City Bar Association, replied: As for the images spread on social networks, they are definitely fake, because currently banks only allow transfer transactions in a maximum of a few days. Tens of billions or several billions, depending on each bank.

This problem can be divided into many cases: In the first case, in this image, the name of the bank is hidden, and at the same time the image of Ms. Truong My Lan is not used, it is just considered a fun joke. , no punishment can be given because in reality there are many Ms. Truong My Lan.

In the second case, in the image there is the full name of the bank, the name of Ms. Truong My Lan specifically specified in the Van Thinh Phat case, the story does not stop at a joke.

At that time, based on Article 5 of Decree 72/2013 on management, provision and use of Internet services and online information, acts of taking advantage of the provision and use of Internet services and online information Purpose: Posting information that distorts, slanders, and insults the reputation of the organization and the honor and dignity of individuals; impersonating organizations and individuals and spreading fake and false information that harms the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals... are all prohibited acts.

In case the purpose of falsifying this transfer image is to commit fraudulent acts to appropriate other people's money, a fine of 2 - 3 million VND will be imposed (Clause 1, Article 15 of Decree 144/2021).

Previously, lawyer Giang Hong Thanh (Giang Thanh Law Office), who defended Ms. Truong My Lan, affirmed that the trend of "going out to sea to find treasure" has many untrue contents.

Mr. Thanh has submitted a request to handle those who have misrepresented and insulted the honor and dignity of Ms. Truong My Lan.

According to lawyer Thanh, during the trial and the sentencing, Ms. Truong My Lan did not say "673,000 billion at sea" as in the clip circulating on social networks.

Lawyer Thanh suspects that the clip circulating on social networks was created, integrated, and possibly even used AI technology to create the most realistic and vivid image.

"The distorted clip has offended Ms. Truong My Lan's reputation, honor, and dignity, which is protected by law," lawyer Thanh stated, citing Articles 8 and 16 of the Law on Cyber Security, to believe that the behavior of the creator of the clip "going out to sea to find treasure" with many distorted content violated the law and should be strictly handled.
