The incident of a shipper in Da Nang being "physically impacted" and then dying has caused a stir in public opinion in recent days. The suspects have been detained while the female customer has made a move to attract attention.
After learning about the incident in which Mr. Tran Thanh (born in 1994, in Nhon Tho 1 village, Hoa Phuoc commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city), a shipper, was beaten to the point of death due to a conflict while receiving goods, public opinion could not help but be shocked and heartbroken during the days before Tet.
The incident originated from an order worth 375,000 VND placed by Ms. TTT (born in 1999, in Giang Nam 2 village, Hoa Phuoc district). After the incident with serious consequences, Ms. T. expressed her regret because the case originated from her late payment for the goods. A source on Vnexpress said that the house of the female customer (about 2km from the male shipper's house) is currently closed.
Ms. T. also quit her job at the coffee shop, was afraid to interact with people and looked haggard when her younger brother and boyfriend were detained by the police at the same time. Outraged by the news, many people even went to the shop where she rented to do business and threw waste.
Meanwhile, Thanh's house has received many visits from organizations, relatives, and neighbors in recent days. Many philanthropists and netizens across the country have donated money, hoping to share some of the loss with the family of the male shipper, and at the same time, want to help his wife and children stabilize their lives soon.
A source on Tuoi Tre Online newspaper said that they have received a number of calls from lawyers in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang, as well as businesses, expressing their desire to provide both financial and free legal assistance to the family of the unfortunate delivery man. A lawyer in Ho Chi Minh City said he sympathized with Thanhâs situation because he was poor, had no home, and had to work to support his family.
According to initial information, at around 11pm on January 17, Mr. Thanh rode his motorbike to Ms. T's house to meet her to resolve a conflict over the delivery and receipt of goods ordered online. At that time, only Mr. Tran Hiep and Ms. Tran Diem Quynh, T's father and younger sister, were at home.
Because they saw the male shipper was drunk and acting loudly, they advised him to go home, but he remained there. A while later, Ms. T. and her two friends, Tran Van Minh Toan and Nguyen Thanh Tung, returned home. There was an argument between Mr. Thanh and the female customer. Seeing this, Toan and Tung rushed in and "physically attacked" Mr. Thanh in many places on his body.
T. was informed that someone had come to the house to fight, Tran Hoang Thien (T.'s younger brother) returned home and joined in. All three only stopped when Mr. Hiep intervened. After being beaten, Thanh got in the car and went home to sleep. At 00:30 on January 18, the victim was found dead by his family.
It is known that at 8:15 p.m., Ms. Thao transferred 375,000 VND to Mr. Thanh. However, because the female customer gave him a bad review on the app, the male shipper came to talk. Both sides were partying before the fight broke out.
Da Nang City Police have prosecuted and temporarily detained three suspects Tran Van Minh Toan, Nguyen Thanh Tung and Tran Hoang Thien for the crime of "Intentionally causing injury".
Talking to Tuoi Tre Online reporter, the female customer burst into tears and said that everything was like a tragedy. "I completely did not expect what happened. Whether it is right or wrong, I accept it. I hope that the law enforcement agency will evaluate the incident objectively and show leniency so that my younger brother, boyfriend and friend who were just arrested can return to their families soon," she said in tears.
Ms. T. added that in the past few days, she has stopped working and stayed home because of too much pressure. Social networks also posted a lot of incorrect information. "My order was 375,000 VND, payment was late and the incident happened exactly as reported by Tuoi Tre Online.
"It is not true that online people said that I reneged on a 14,000 VND order, then lured Mr. Thanh over in the middle of the night and pretended to pay for the goods so that they could call people to beat me up. I am extremely remorseful and regretful. Don't let an order lead to something like what happened to me, losing everything" - she cried.
