An Giang: Many shippers of a fast delivery company were arrested

Four employees of a delivery company in An Giang were recently prosecuted and detained by Long Xuyen City Police on charges of embezzlement and property theft, with a total amount of up to hundreds of millions of dong.

During the investigation, it was determined that Loc, Khoa, Toan and Khanh were all employees at post offices of An Giang Express Delivery Service Joint Stock Company Branch in Long Xuyen City.

From April 2023 to August 2023, after receiving delivery orders and successfully receiving money from customers, Loc, Khoa, Toan and Khanh did not return the money to the company but used Fraudulent tricks to appropriate money for personal expenses.

Of which, Toan appropriated over 16 million VND; Khanh appropriated more than 31.8 million VND; Khoa appropriated more than 55.3 million VND; Loc appropriated the amount of over 36.7 million VND and the goods of 84 failed delivery orders were worth more than 27.7 million VND.

In addition, Loc also stole 3 high-value orders from the company, took them out of the post office and delivered them to customers for an amount of over 10 million VND. After the Company discovered it, it filed a complaint against the subjects' violations and sent it to the Police Investigation Agency of the City Police. Long Xuyen.

Currently, the case is being handled by the Economic Police Team of the City Police. Long Xuyen continues to investigate, verify and clarify and handle according to the provisions of law.

In fact, this is not the first case involving shippers appropriating company money. Last year, a subject received a 3-year prison sentence for "property embezzlement".

Accordingly, on April 19, 2023, the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City rejected all of the defendant's appeals and the Procuracy's protests, affirming the 3-year prison sentence for defendant Banh Tat Hoai (30 years old, hometown of An Giang) on charges of property embezzlement.

According to the content of the first instance court case, Hoai is a delivery staff of Tiet Kiem Delivery Joint Stock Company - Ho Chi Minh City branch (Tiet Kiem Delivery Company). The subject installed the application of Tiet Kiem Delivery Company and used this application to deliver goods to customers on Tran Hung Dao street, Co Giang ward, district 1.

If possible, bring it to the customer and collect money according to the order. If the goods cannot be delivered, the shipper will note it in the application with the status "reschedule". At the end of each shift, Hoai must bring the collected money and the undeliverable goods back to the warehouse on Pho Quang Street.

From October 7 to October 28, 2020, Hoai successfully delivered 13 orders and collected 27 million VND, but did not return them, but instead clicked on the "reschedule" customer status application so he did not deliver. received the above orders.

After that, this shipper went back to the warehouse to get cardboard to make another box, take bricks, scrap paper, lighters... put them inside, sign and print the product code of the "reschedule" order and paste it on it. box and submit it to the inspection department of Thrifty Delivery Company.

After discovering the incident, a representative of Tiet Kiem Delivery Company went to the police to report.
