Regarding the case of a man being harassed for writing poetry on Facebook, Le Thuy District Police (Quang Binh) worked with a group of people who beat Mr. Ngo Van Lu (Ngu Thuy Commune, the victim of the incident).

Through investigation, the group of 7 people admitted their actions. The reason Mr. Lu was interacted with was because this group felt offended by the poem he posted on Facebook. "We are currently waiting for the results of the assessment of Mr. Lu's disability to consolidate the case and handle it in accordance with the law," a representative of Le Thuy District Police added.

In additional information on Thanh Nien newspaper, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Tuan Anh, Chief of Le Thuy District Police, said that the group of people who beat Mr. Lu asked to be compensated for the consequences.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Tuan Anh, the case is basically not complicated, but the authorities are waiting for the results of the examination and the opinions of the family. If there are enough elements, the case will be prosecuted according to legal procedures.

Regarding Mr. Lu's health condition after the interaction: Currently, Mr. Lu is being treated at Hue Central Hospital in a state of multiple injuries, unable to sit up or go to the toilet. According to doctors, in addition to the skin injuries, Mr. Lu also suffered lung damage and is suspected to have a blood clot in his head. This makes the victim's family very worried.

As reported, on the evening of October 10, Mr. Ngo Van Lu, his wife and grandchildren were having dinner when suddenly a group of people in two cars crashed into their house and knocked them unconscious. Mrs. Ngo Thi Mai (Mr. Lu's wife) quickly shouted for help. When the neighbors ran over, the group of people stopped and got in their car and left the scene. The incident was later reported to the authorities by Mr. Lu's family.

At the time Mr. Lu was beaten, his wife and a 6-year-old child witnessed it. Mrs. Mai, the child and the whole family were very confused and scared. The son was worried that everyone's mental health would be affected not only at the present time but also in the future.

After the investigation, Ngu Thuy Commune Police summoned 7 related subjects. This group of people all reside in Liem Tien village, not far from the victim's house.

At the police station, the subjects admitted their actions and said that the main reason for the interaction was because Mr. Lu's poem posted on Facebook made them "feel offended". Out of anger, the group drove to Mr. Lu's house to ask him to remove the post.

According to Mr. Ngo Van Luyt (Mr. Lu's son), the reason his father was affected may have stemmed from the story that on October 9 and 10, the Farmers' Association of Ngu Thuy commune organized a volleyball tournament, due to poor organization, leading to conflicts. After that, the teams complained to the organizers and abandoned the tournament.

Depending on the circumstances of the case, interacting with another person causing injury can be charged with different crimes. But considering the behavior and consequences, it can be seen that interacting with another person causing injury is an act of intentionally causing injury or harm to the health of another person.

The penalty for this crime if the body injury rate is 11% or more or less than 11% but falls under the cases specified in Article 134 of the Penal Code 2015 (amended 2017) is to be subject to non-custodial reform for up to 03 years or imprisonment from 06 months to 03 years, the most severe is 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
