On the afternoon of January 16, Vuong took a bus from Hanoi to flee to Da Nang, then continued to take a bus from Da Nang to Vung Tau City, rented a motorbike taxi to Lien Tri Pagoda to pray for the people. Vuong testified that "the motive for committing the crime was to free the whole family because he was too poor". The case is still being investigated and handled by the Hanoi City Police and coordinating units.

Previously, at about 2 p.m. on January 17, Ms. Vu Thi Ut T. (40 years old, in Co Hoang village, Hoang Long commune, Phu Xuyen district, Hanoi) went to the house of her brother Vu Van Vuong and found Ms. Dao Thi N. (79 years old) dead in the living room.

Ms. T. immediately shouted to call nearby people to help. After that, she checked the house again and found that under the bed in the bedroom there were the evils of her sister-in-law, Do Thi T. (50 years old) and grandchildren Vu Thu H. (19 years old), Vu Thanh T. (17 years old).

Receiving the news, in the face of the particularly serious nature of the case, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung - director of the Hanoi City Police and Major General Nguyen Thanh Tung - deputy director of the Hanoi City Police - went directly to the scene, directing the investigating police agency to coordinate with the Criminal Police Department and functional units to organize an examination of the scene, investigate the case, arrest the suspect.

In the same incident, the Quang Ninh Police also arrested the subject who harmed his mother and brother on the morning of the 2nd of the Lunar New Year. On January 30, the leader of Quang Yen town (Quang Ninh) said that the authorities of Quang Ninh province were investigating the case that occurred in the area on the morning of the 2nd day of the Lunar New Year 2025.

The victi.m was identified as H.ung Tho's mother and brother - this person said. Initial information, at about 7 am on January 30, during the conflict, Do Van Luu (born in 1973, in Song Khoai, Quang Yen, Quang Ninh) harmed his mother and brother. After that, Luu was controlled by the people and functional forces and taken to the police headquarters. Currently, the authorities of Quang Ninh province are investigating and handling the case in accordance with the law.
