A leader of the Department of Culture and Information of Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province, said that they had received and verified the petition of Ms. Tran Thi Nam Thu (actress Nam Thu) regarding the fact that she was slandered by others, posted false information, and had her images illegally posted on social networks.

However, this leader said that the authorities could not verify the person that Nam Thu accused.

Specifically, after receiving the petition, the People's Committee of Da Lat City assigned the Department of Culture and Information of Da Lat City to handle it according to its authority and expertise. However, this agency could not determine that the person that actress Nam Thu accused of running a homestay business in Da Lat.

"The reason is because the homestay that actress Nam Thu accused of has been transferred to many people. The current owner and business owner did not know and is not the person that actress Nam Thu accused of" - this leader added.

According to this leader, the Department of Culture and Information of Da Lat City will advise the People's Committee of Da Lat City to respond to actress Nam Thu about the results of verification and handling of this actress's petition.

Previously, on July 25, actress Nam Thu also filed a complaint against a restaurant named HL in Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province for providing a clip of actress Nam Thu going to this restaurant with a friend.

According to the petition of actress Nam Thu, on July 3, she and her friend Mr. TLL and Mr. L's child went to HL restaurant in Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province to eat, then left.

Then on July 5, a Facebook account posted a video extracted from the restaurant's camera, recording the image when the actress came to eat at the restaurant on July 3.

Actress Nam Thu believes that her coming to this restaurant to eat is her personal privacy and the restaurant has no right to provide any information or images related to her to another person...

The actress also said that HL restaurant did not know about her relationships, but arbitrarily shared the camera containing her information with another person and they used it for purposes that were not in accordance with the law, infringing on her legal rights and interests.

Actress Nam Thu's petition has been forwarded to Duc Trong District Police for clarification.

Actress Nam Thu requested that competent authorities base on the provisions of Clause 2, Article 81 of Decree 98/2020 related to the protection of consumer rights to clarify the acts of storing information and providing third parties with customers' information without their consent, seriously affecting the rights and interests of customers.

The owner of HL restaurant refused to give any feedback.

In addition, Nam Thu can collect additional documents, papers, and papers related to actual material damage and loss; irreparable property damage and loss; reasonable costs to prevent, limit, and remedy damage; actual income lost or reduced due to the impact of the above-mentioned acts on its property, health, life, honor, dignity, reputation, rights, and other legitimate interests.
