Ms. Lien said that on April 27, 2022, she took a bus from Hanoi to Ha Long City (Quang Ninh) to get medicine to treat joint pain. However, when arriving at the Doc Do intersection (National Highway 18), this 59-year-old woman came up with the idea of going to Yen Tu mountain to pray for peace. At noon of the same day, after buying cable car tickets and scenic spots, Ms. Lien started her journey to Yen Tu mountain. After worshiping Buddha at Dong Pagoda, she went down the mountain a few dozen meters and felt tired so she leaned on the railing next to the cliff to rest.
Having a history of vestibular disorders, when she stood up to continue going down the mountain, Ms. Lien was dizzy, staggered and fell down the cliff. When she heard someone's voice, she was about to stand up and call for help when she stepped on a garbage bag and fell further down.
Ms. Lien said at that time she thought that the more she tried to climb up, the more dangerous it would be, so she tried not to let herself fall further down the cliff. However, due to her body's weight, she continued to fall deeper.
After the third fall, Ms. Lien saw a large stone slab that she could lie on and immediately clung to a bamboo tree and climbed over to observe and call for help.
This woman said that the time it fell was foggy, visibility was very short, only 1-2 m and it was raining so no one discovered it. When it fell, due to heavy rain, his clothes and shoes were soaked and his whole body was cold. Fortunately, there was a bamboo bush next to the stone, so she found a rope to pull the canopy down in front of her, creating an umbrella above.
Then she found a plastic bag to cover the front so that the wind and rain wouldn't blow in. She used a plastic bag to cover her head, wrapped her body, hands and feet to use body heat to warm herself, avoiding pneumonia and stomach pain. ,...
To maintain life, Ms. Lien said she had to divide the burnt rice package into small pieces in the bag she carried to eat gradually, and drink water from bottles that were thrown away earlier.
