Ms. Lien said that on April 27, 2022, she took a bus from Hanoi to Ha Long City (Quang Ninh) to get medicine to treat joint pain. However, when arriving at the Doc Do intersection (National Highway 18), this 59-year-old woman came up with the idea of going to Yen Tu mountain to pray for peace. At noon of the same day, after buying cable car tickets and scenic spots, Ms. Lien started her journey to Yen Tu mountain. After worshiping Buddha at Dong Pagoda, she went down the mountain a few dozen meters and felt tired so she leaned on the railing next to the cliff to rest.

Having a history of vestibular disorders, when she stood up to continue going down the mountain, Ms. Lien was dizzy, staggered and fell down the cliff. This woman said that the time it fell was foggy, visibility was very short, only 1-2 m and it was raining so no one discovered it.
