"This afternoon, there is a small subsidence of the surrounding soil. Although it is not serious, it does not affect the interior, but it must be handled to make the ground stable and safe with the construction forces above, below and around.

This is the situation that arises and the equipment malfunctions due to thickening of the pumped material. All these incidents were quickly handled by the force at the construction site, using sand to level and stabilize around the pit wall," said Doan Tan Buu.

Mr. Doan Tan Buu also added that the locality has also calculated a plan to take care of the victim's funeral. Jobs related to forensics, body handling, burial, and bringing the baby back to the family are all assigned and arranged.

Earlier, on the morning of January 18, responding to VTC News, Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Doan Tan Buu said that the rescue force was still trying to bring the boy's body to the ground. .

"It is expected that tonight or tomorrow at the latest, the baby will be brought up," said Mr. Doan Tan Buu.

As VTC News reported, at 11:30 a.m. on December 31, 2022, Thai Ly Hao Nam and his friends in the neighborhood entered the Roc Sen bridge project (provincial road 857, Phu Loi commune) to pick up iron.

When going through the construction work, baby Nam fell into the concrete pillar (25cm in diameter, hollow inside, about 35m deep). Discovering the incident, the children went along to shout for adults to help but failed.

About 30 minutes after the incident, the rescue force was present, deploying many plans to save the boy. After that, the Dong Thap provincial government mobilized hundreds of people to participate in the rescue and rescue.
