Huong told Mr. T's fortune and gave him false information that if he did not perform the ritual to dispel bad luck, Mr. T's father would have trouble and all the money he had earned would be lost. Trusting Huong, Mr. T and his wife transferred 62.5 million VND to Huong to perform the ritual to dispel bad luck.

On December 6, 2022, Huong continued to take advantage of the superstition of Mr. TTX's wife and husband (in Du Hang ward, Le Chan district, Hai Phong city). Huong told fortunes for Mr. X and gave false information to make him and his wife believe that Mr. X's house was cursed, haunted by ghosts, and that the family had bad luck... To dispel the bad luck, Mr. X's family had to give Huong 180 million VND so that Huong could perform a ritual to dispel the bad luck and Mr. X's family would be able to sell the house in December 2022.

Mr. X. and his wife believed it was true, so they gave Huong 180 million VND. After the ceremony, Mr. X. and his wife waited until the end of December 2022 but still could not sell the house, and work was not going well. Thinking that he had been scammed, this man filed a complaint with the police about the act of fraud and appropriation of money from the medium Truong Thi Huong.

The total amount of money that Huong appropriated from Mr. T. and his wife and Mr. X. was 242.5 million VND. After the procedure was completed, the representative of the People's Procuracy announced the indictment. The panel of judges asked the defendant Huong if she agreed with the indictment charging her with the crime? The defendant said the indictment was incorrect and kept saying "the defendant was wronged, the Truong family was wronged".

Afterwards, defendant Huong asked the panel of judges to exonerate her and the "Truong family". During the interrogation, defendant Truong Thi Huong said "the family of Mr. T. and Mr. X. voluntarily came to ask for help from the Truong family, and the defendant herself did not entice or entice these people to come to worship".

On January 4, 2024, Kinh Mon Police said that the defendant Truong Thi Huong continued to be prosecuted for the above crime in the case of fraud to appropriate property in another case.
