The case of the 8th grade boy who was influenced to leave: Are the father and brother of the perpetrator accomplices?

Regarding the case of an 8th grade male student who suffered a physical impact and lost his life, on August 14, the Investigation Police Agency of Long Bien District Police (Hanoi) issued the conclusion of the investigation into this case.

Accordingly, defendant Truong Van Minh (16 years old, residing in Viet Hung ward, Long Bien) was proposed to be prosecuted for the crime of Intentional Infliction of Injury as prescribed in Point a, Clause 4, Article 134 of the Penal Code. During the investigation, the authorities identified TVL (12 years old, Minh's younger brother) as an accomplice.

However, at the time of the crime, K. was only 11 years, 5 months and 20 days old, so he is not criminally responsible. In this case, the authorities have notified the locality of residence and the school for coordination and education.

In this case, the authorities concluded that Mr. TVT (Minh's father) was not an accomplice with Minh in causing the injuries that led to the death of the 8th grade student.

As previously reported, on March 19, Long Bien District Police (Hanoi City) received a criminal complaint from Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan (residing in Cam Khe District, Phu Tho Province) about her son, NHĐ., being injured while playing basketball at the octagonal court of Le Mat communal house on March 17.

During the verification and investigation process, the police determined that at around 3:00 p.m. on March 17, TVK (12 years old, residing in Long Bien district) was playing at Le Mat communal house when a conflict arose and he was slapped in the face by NHĐ.

TVK ran home to call his brother TVM (16 years old, living in Long Bien district, 10th grade student, Viet Hung Continuing Education Center) to help resolve the conflict. According to the police, M. then went to meet and punched D., causing the male student to fall to the ground. D. was then taken to Duc Giang General Hospital for emergency treatment, then transferred to Hospital 108 for treatment.

On March 26, D. was transferred by his family to Phu Tho General Hospital in a very serious condition. On March 27, the Investigation Police Agency of Long Bien District Police (Hanoi) issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain TVM to investigate the crime of intentionally causing injury.

On May 20, after nearly 2 months of treatment at Phu Tho General Hospital, D. was transferred to the National Children's Hospital for treatment. After 1 day of dedicated care and treatment by doctors at the National Children's Hospital, due to severe injuries, he passed away at 12:35 on May 21.

Regarding the case of NHĐ. (8th grade student at Viet Hung Secondary School, Long Bien District, Hanoi) who suffered physical impact and lost his life, on May 26, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan (D.'s mother) sent her sincere thanks to the organizations, friends near and far, neighbors, teachers, students and benefactors who helped and sent her child to his final resting place in his hometown.

In addition, Ms. Lan also spoke out about the false rumors related to her family receiving billions from the suspect who caused the tragic passing of her son. "There is no way I received 2 or 3 billion from that family. And there is no reconciliation with that family," Ms. Lan affirmed. Lawyer Nguyen Anh Thom (Hanoi Bar Association - the person who provided legal aid to the 8th grade male student) also confirmed this information.

Mr. Thom said that after arranging the funeral for her son, Ms. Lan sent her thanks and gratitude to the authorities and everyone who helped and sent her son to his final resting place in his hometown of Phu Tho. Along with that, Ms. Lan also denied the false rumor that she received money from the suspect and proceeded to reconcile. "In the process of working with Ms. Lan, I saw that she and her family always strongly requested the law enforcement agencies to resolve the case and restore justice for D.", Mr. Thom said.
