Previously, on the morning of May 22, Kon Tum City Police received news from the Board of Directors of Ngok Bay Primary and Secondary School (Mang La village, Ngok Bay commune, Kon Tum city) about the discovery of Currently, thieves broke in, pried open the door and ransacked furniture, taking property worth more than 16 million VND.

After receiving the news, Kon Tum City Police quickly deployed an investigation force to clarify the case. Investigation results determined: At about 3:45 a.m. on the same day, subject A Kin (born 1998, residing in Ko Nang village, Ngok Bay commune, Kon Tum city) and two subjects A Ken and A Linh broke into TH-School. At the same time, more than 5.8 million VND was confiscated from A Linh's person; A Ken was confiscated an amount of 1.3 million VND and an OPPO brand phone worth 2.2 million VND that the subject bought with stolen money.

Previously in 2023 in Hanoi, netizens were also disturbed by the case of defendant Phan Van Hung, who often broke into People's Committee headquarters and schools to steal. Accordingly, Hung played tricks at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Phuc Dien ward, Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi. At that time, Hung brought along a plough, hydraulic pliers, and a cutting machine. Seeing that there were no people around the People's Committee headquarters, the defendant parked his motorbike nearby, climbed the wall, and broke inside. Going to the Finance and Planning department, Hung used hydraulic pliers to cut the door lock and threw it into the corner of the wall. Seeing that there was a safe in the room, Hung cut the back of the safe and took more than 397 million VND.

Defendant Hung also caused many thefts at My Dinh 2 Secondary School, My Dinh 2 Ward People's Committee, My Dinh 2 Kindergarten, My Dinh 2 Primary School. Investigation authorities determined that the defendant stole more than 842 million VND. Hung brought this money back to his boarding house, hid it in his bag, and only spent part of it. The investigation agency seized 749 million VND.

Defendant Hung was sentenced to 6 years in prison by the People's Court of Nghe An province in 2007. After completing his prison term, in 2016, Hung continued to be sentenced by the People's Court of Chau Duc district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province to 36 months in prison for the crime Theft of property. By 2020, Hung was sentenced to 33 months in prison by the People's Court of Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi for theft of property and abuse of trust to appropriate property.

Being an addict and not having a stable career, after being released from prison, in September 2022, Hung moved from Nghe An to Hanoi to rent a room and practice theft. Hung's target is State administrative agencies. The defendant often rode his motorbike around the streets of Hanoi, observed the headquarters of state administrative agencies and schools, and if he saw a loophole, he would break in and steal property. The indictment determined that from September 15 to October 2, 2022, Phan Van Hung committed 6 crimes.

Typically, around 1:00 a.m. on September 15, 2022, Hung brought a handheld cutter and rode his motorbike to the Cau Giay district area. Arriving at Nguyen Khang Street, seeing that there were no people around the Cau Giay District Department of Education and Training, the defendant parked his car and broke into the office. Arriving at the Finance Department, Hung yanked the window open, then used a machine to cut the door window, crawled into the room, cut the back of the safe and took 90 million VND.
