Thuan An Ward Police (Thuan Hoa District, Hue City) said that they had just coordinated with the Border Guard force to promptly rescue Mr. HVM (born in 1975) when he was carrying cold goods and harming himself, jumping into the sea and took him to the hospital for examination and treatment.
According to press reports, at 1 p.m. on April 10, Mr. M. showed unusual signs, carrying two knives to the breakwater of Thuan An estuary in Thuan An ward, threatening to harm himself. Through camera footage, the police determined that on the afternoon of March 24, Mr. T. climbed behind Mr. M.'s house and moved on the roofs and balconies of several houses. He then climbed into Mr. M.'s house via the roof near the kitchen.
The police determined that Mr. T. showed signs of abnormality, self-inflicted injuries, and loss of control of his behavior. When he climbed into Mr. M.'s house, Mr. T. collapsed and died.
Ms. PTTHV (51 years old, wife of the victi.m) said that the couple and their 12-year-old daughter rented a room in Tan Phu district. Every day, Ms. V. drives a motorbike taxi, while Mr. T. does not have a stable job. He applied for jobs in several places but quit after a few days.
"He was an alcoholic and had little education so he was afraid to go to work. He worked as a waiter at the school cafeteria for a while and then quit. After that, someone invited him to work as a security guard but he was afraid because he was illiterate so he refused," said Ms. V.
Ms. V. said that sometimes Mr. T. had hallucinations. One day, Mr. T. said that while sleeping, he dreamed of many people chasing and beatin.g him, which made him anxious.
A few days ago, while Mrs. V. was at work, a neighbor called to report that her husband had climbed onto the roof of the rented house and was wandering around there. "Mr. T. was stressed due to many problems in his life, and drinking too much alcohol sometimes made him not clear-headed. Yesterday morning, I went to work, but I don't know when he left home. That evening, someone called to report that my husband had an acciden.t and asked me to go to the police station in Ward 13 (Tan Binh District)," Mrs. V. added.
