Recently, social networks have been abuzz with clips recorded by security cameras about a suspected chil.d abduction incident that occurred at Thien Huong Kindergarten (Thien Huong Ward, Thuy Nguyen City, Hai Phong).
Accordingly, a young woman (wearing a black jacket, white pants, slippers, black mask, and glasses) went to Thien Huong kindergarten. After that, this woman took a littl.e gir.l (wearing a pink shirt and black pants) and left. In the clip, the littl.e gir.l obediently followed the woman in the black shirt.
The incident has caused a stir and shoc.k in public opinion when a suspected kidnapping occurred right at the kindergarten, in broad daylight. However, many people also wondered why the teacher let a stranger pick up the chil.d and why the 4-year-old chil.d followed the stranger without any reaction?
Sharing with the press on the evening of January 13, Ms. NTH (in Nguyen City, Hai Phong) confirmed that her 4-year-old daughter, a student at Thien Huong Kindergarten, was taken away by a stranger at nearly 4:00 p.m. on January 13. Ms. H. reported the kidnapping of her chil.d to the Thien Huong Ward Police. As of 9:30 p.m. on January 13, the family still had no information about the chil.d.
According to press reports, authorities identified the person who took the chil.d away from Thien Huong Kindergarten as a gir.l born in 1987, from Lam Dong commune (Thuy Nguyen city, Hai Phong).
This gir.l has abnormal mental symptoms, is not married and likes to play with children. In recent days, this person went to a school in the inner city to play with children, the authorities had to contact relatives to take the gir.l home.
On the afternoon of January 13, this gir.l went to Thien Huong Kindergarten to play with children in the school yard. She then took the chil.d out of the school and took a taxi to Tran Nguyen Han Street (Le Chan, Hai Phong). The police are currently searching for this gir.l and the chil.d.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Dao Trung Hieu, the methods of kidnapping children today are very diverse. Criminals can use a series of "tricks" such as: Discovering children playing alone on the street, going with their parents to public places but far away from adults, the subject finds a way to approach, get acquainted and then use attractive things for children such as candy, books, toys to lure and entice children to follow him.
Pretending to be a family member of the chil.d, or someone asked by the chil.d's parents to pick them up, to trick teachers, trick kindergarten, elementary, middle school students... to take them away.
Taking advantage of acquaintances or the kindness of people, the subjects create difficult situations to ask for a place to stay, then while the family is sleeping, they take advantage of the chil.d or snatch the chil.d and escape.
Attacking families, 'interacting' with parents, adults... to kidnap children (in border areas). Children who are lost from their parents, lost their way, the subject comes to comfort them, appears trustworthy and then tricks them into taking them away. Taking advantage of the difficult situation of street children (begging, selling newspapers, shining shoes...) to lure, deceive or use force to kidnap them.
Through the cases of chil.d abduction that have occurred, it can be seen that this crime is focused on criminal gangsters, released from prison, unemployed, football debtors, and gamblers. Professional criminals often operate in gangs, with 2 or more members.
In cases of kidnapping children for the purpose of appropriating property, they always determine their target before committing the crime, usually targeting wealthy and well-off families.
In opportunistic, temporary, spontaneous crimes, criminals see favorable conditions such as children walking alone on the street, without adult supervision, they approach, seduce, trick or use force to control and then take them away.
The causes and conditions for the emergence of chil.d abduction crimes are primarily due to the subjectivity, negligence, carelessness, and lack of vigilance of parents and relatives in looking after children; lack of education on anti-kidnapping skills of adults towards children; pragmatic lifestyle, chasing after mone.y, and the degradation of social morality.
