Ho Chi Minh City Police warned, do not abet livestreams to insult others

The Ho Chi Minh City Police suggest that people do not participate in supporting or commenting on livestreams with negative content or insulting the honor and dignity of others.

On the afternoon of November 7, at a press conference on the socio-economic situation organized by the Propaganda Department of the City Party Committee, the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City, Colonel Nguyen Thang Long, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ho Chi Minh City Police emphasized the risks of participating in livestream sessions with the above content.

Colonel Thang Long affirmed that in Vietnam, all citizens must comply with the law, including activities in cyberspace. The Party and the State respect, protect, guarantee and promote the right to freedom of expression of citizens, which is one of the basic human rights and this right is within the framework of the law.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Police, livestream sessions of the above nature can create conditions for bad actors to commit acts of violating the law such as: staging, distorting the truth, spreading false news, misleading with vulgar language, content, distorting, insulting honor, etc human dignity, infringing upon the legitimate rights and interests of individuals and organizations.

To ensure the safety and health of the online environment, Colonel Long called on people to raise their sense of responsibility when using social networks, complying with Decision No. 874/QD-BTTTT of the Ministry of Information and Communications issued on June 17, 2021 on the Code of Conduct on social networks.

Accordingly, citizens and organizations must comply with regulations on proper behavior, respect the right to freedom of expression within the framework of the law, avoid making statements and comments that violate the reputation and interests of others.

Colonel Long also advised people not to participate in supporting or commenting on livestreams with negative content. Instead, he suggested that the community should condemn violations and proactively report to the authorities when detecting signs of violating the law online.

It can be said that the phrase "livestream" in the past time has been quite sensitive. Besides negative thoughts, it is also considered an inevitable trend. If used correctly, it helps to bring many benefits.
