According to NationTV (Thailand), on the afternoon of July 18, Thai police began checking the luggage and belongings of the victims in the case of "6 Vietnamese people who died at the Grand Hyatt Erawan hotel in Bangkok." ".

Relatives of the five deceased people were invited to witness the luggage unpacking process (Mr. Dang Hung Van's relatives could not be contacted).

In addition, witnesses related to the incident were also summoned to provide additional testimony. Among these were Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Lan's ex-husband, and two hotel staff members who served the last meal and tea set to the group of 6 Vietnamese people.

By the end of July 18, the baggage inspection process was basically completed. According to the findings report received by Nation TV's news team, investigators "found some important evidence inside the suitcases of 1 of the 6 people who died." Notably, this evidence allows "clear identification of who carried out the poisoning".

Police said they are waiting for final confirmation results from forensic experts before making an announcement. However, according to Nation TV, this evidence is basically "consistent with the police's previous assessment in identifying the perpetrator of poisoning".

ThaiPBS (Thailand) said that during the process of checking the luggage of 6 Vietnamese people who died, the police also found "pills that look like regular drugs". These pills will be sent to the forensic unit to determine whether they are the same type as those found at the scene.

In addition, Thai police also found a strange letter in Ms. Chong Sherine's phone.

It was a letter written in Chinese with the following content: "I want to carry a lot of money and gold with me, because the more money I have, the stronger I will be. In particular, according to Channel 3 (Thailand), this is a handwritten letter. However, it is unclear whether this letter was written by Ms. Chong, or taken from somewhere else.

Thai police said they will contact Ms. Chong's relatives to find out what the purpose of this letter is, what meaning it tries to convey and especially how it is related to case.

Previously, the motive of the case was initially determined to be that Ms. Chong owed a sum of about 7.5 billion VND, so she poisoned the tea and made it for the whole group to drink. As of yesterday (July 17), Thai police continued to identify the second suspect as Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Lan.

Ms. Lan was the one who invited the remaining victims to invest in projects, while Ms. Sherine Chong - the first suspect - persuaded the victims to raise funds for hospital business activities in Japan.

In addition to urgently decoding the letter on Ms. Chong's phone, Channel 3 said the police are looking for another person who may be related to the case.

That was the man nicknamed "Tiger" who contacted Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Lan before his death.

The latest information found by Thai police shows that the character named "Tiger" is a Vietnamese living in Thailand. Police are currently searching for this person to clarify the extent of his involvement in the case.
