Returning 177 Vietnamese people who made online scam apps in the Cambodian autonomous region to return home

On February 7, the Border Guard Command of Tay Ninh province said that it had just coordinated with the Tay Ninh Provincial Police to receive 177 Vietnamese returned by Cambodia, related to labor and illegal residence in the country.

Specifically, on February 6, at Moc Bai International Border Gate, the Moc Bai International Border Gate Border Guard Station (Border Guard of Tay Ninh Province) coordinated with the Tay Ninh Provincial Police to receive 177 citizens (19 women and 158 men) handed over by Cambodia. In which, there are 2 cases that are being searched by the police.

According to the Border Guard Command of Tay Ninh province, of the 177 Vietnamese returned by Cambodia this time, there were 48 cases of legal exit and 129 cases of illegal exit. In which, 176 schools worked in a company that deceived people in building 11, Kim Sa 4 area, Bavet border gate, Svay Rieng province (Cambodia) in the form of online scams and one case of shippers.

In addition, the functional forces also use the BKCAID system (national population data of the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order - Ministry of CA) to check information.

The results showed that 6 people did not have data on the system, 1 person falsified personal information, 1 person was removed from the list due to the same name as the wanted subject. At the same time, out of 177 Vietnamese citizens, only 48 have left the country legally. The remaining 129 people left the country illegally, most of them worked in the online scam line.

During the inspection, the authorities discovered that the two people being searched were Vinh Bao Trong H. (26 years old, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City) - was investigated by the Thu Duc City Police for misconduct against people from full 13 to under 16 years old.

Nguyen Tan D. (25 years old, living in Ward 2, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City) was investigated by the District 3 Police for property theft. The functional forces of Tay Ninh province have handed over these two people to the Thu Duc City Police and the District 3 Police to continue investigating and handling in accordance with the law.

Currently, the Tay Ninh Provincial Police coordinate with the border guard and district-level police forces to invite 30 suspicious cases, related to deceiving people into appropriating property, human trafficking to continue investigation and clarification.

Previously, on December 11 and 12, 2024, at Moc Bai International Border Gate, the Tay Ninh Provincial Police coordinated with functional forces to receive 410 Vietnamese people who were handed over by Cambodian functional forces for illegal labor and residence in your country.

Specifically, on December 4, Cambodian authorities conducted an administrative inspection of the Venus Casino - Resort area in Ho Chi Minh City. Bavet, Svay Rieng province (Cambodia), thereby temporarily detained 410 Vietnamese citizens due to violations of illegal exit and illegal labor, suspected of cheatin.g in cyberspace. According to the authorities of Tay Ninh province, among the 410 people mentioned above, there are 5 cases with a tracing decision, 1 arrest warrant and 4 wanted decisions.

In addition, 24 citizens who fell into the trap of "high-paying light jobs" went to Cambodia to work, and were force.d by a group of Chinese people to make deceptive calls, according to police. On February 6, this group of Vietnamese workers was brought home at the Ha Tien International Border Guard Station, Kien Giang province.

According to the Kien Giang Provincial Police, 24 citizens live in many provinces and cities. Through social networks, they are introduced to jobs that "do not require experience", "earn thousands of dollars", and "light jobs with high salaries".

The recruitment team asks workers to enter Cambodia through quotas, then put them in Chinese-run headquarters. Workers who are force.d to make deceptive calls, if they do not meet the assigned targets or intend to flee, will be physically affected. Recently, they were found to be working illegally by Cambodian authorities, arrested and returned home.

Over the past time, the functional forces of provinces with border gates with Cambodia such as Tay Ninh, Long An, An Giang, Dong Thap, and Kien Giang have continuously received citizens and workers rescued from online scam companies and casinos in Cambodia. Most of these people were lured to Cambodia, then force.d to deceive Vietnamese people online. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a total of more than 1,000 people who were tricked into working in Cambodia have been rescued.
