South Korea's major news site Dispatch recently reported on a kidnapping case in Hanoi. Dispatch quoted information in the Vietnamese press about the tragic incident when the nanny kidnapped and k.illed the victim.
This information caused not only domestic but also international public opinion to stir and be confused because of the cruelty and coldness of the 20-year-old nanny towards the very young c.hild.
According to information about the case, on September 19, Hung Yen Provincial Police received a request from the City Police. Hanoi on coordinating to verify and arrest Giap Thi Huyen Trang, the main suspect in the kidnapping of a l.ittle g.irl in a high-class urban area in Gia Lam district (Hanoi city).
The victim was taken out of the preschool in the urban area. After taking the b.aby away, the suspect contacted the b.aby's family and asked for 1.5 billion VND ransom, the family then transferred 350 million VND. However, something tragic happened.
On the morning of September 20, the b.aby girl was discovered in a fish pond next to a ditch in Dong Que village in Me So commune (Van Giang district, Hung Yen province), about 13 km from home and school. It is known that Trang is a maid or nanny hired by the family to take the c.hild to school at the kindergarten.
On September 22, Hung Yen Provincial Police decided to prosecute the case and prosecute Giap Thi Huyen Trang (born in 1996, Viet Ngoc commune, Tan Uyen district, Bac Giang province) to investigate the case. m.urder.
However, at around 6:50 p.m. on September 21, the authorities recovered the b.ody of a woman, later confirmed to be Giap Thi Huyen Trang, the suspect in the kidnapping of a c.hild in the city. Hanoi. The discovery area is on the Duong river, passing Phu Dong bridge (Gia Lam district, Hanoi city).
At this point, the authorities will suspend the defendant against Trang (because this person has passed away), but will continue to investigate the whereabouts of the m.oney flow caused by Trang's crime.
Explaining the above legal situation, lawyer Hoang Tung - Head of Trung Hoa Law Office (Hanoi) said that during the investigation process, if it is found that someone provides a bank account number or someone contacts withdraw m.oney..., the police need to verify whether that person helped Trang commit the crime or not? If so, the case will be expanded to investigate the defendant's accomplices, because the victim's family has repeatedly transferred m.oney to Trang, an amount of 550 million VND.
Because the transfer time was very short, this m.oney was not used or only partially used by Trang. The investigation agency needed to confiscate it to return it to the legal owner, the victim's family.
In case the legal owner does not request to receive this m.oney back, the investigation agency will add it to the State budget.
"In case it is determined that Trang used the above m.oney for personal expenses or went missing in the river, the agency conducting the proceedings will not be able to confiscate this m.oney.
If the m.oney received from Trang's crime is transferred to others such as debt repayment, pawning... these people know the above amount of m.oney but still receive it, they may be considered an accomplice to the crime of kidnapping. ", lawyer Hoang Tung analyzed.
It can be seen that, in the face of such a heartbreaking incident, many parents have become tighter in protecting their children.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Theu (28 years old, Hai Duong) said that no matter how busy she is, she still spends 15 minutes in the morning and afternoon to drop off and pick up her children from school. If she is in the middle of doing something for a customer, she will ask her husband. Because in a foreign city, she did not dare to ask anyone for help, partly because the cost was expensive and partly because she did not feel secure.
"When my c.hild is off school, I always take him to work. He is very understanding, does not disturb, obediently sits and plays while his mother works" - Ms. Theu said.
Recently, Ms. Theu also ordered a GPS watch to wear for her c.hild. That way, if the c.hild gets lost, she and her husband can easily know and find it.
Regarding her future plans, Ms. Theu said that if work is busy, she will ask her grandmother to take care of her or find a maid she knows in the countryside rather than hiring a stranger.
