Giap Thi Huyen Trang graduated from pedagogy, but when she started teaching at low wages, Trang quit her job and then worked as a worker. Huyen Trang is currently a suspect in a kidnapping and extortion case, causing casualties.
On September 21, Hung Yen Provincial Police are coordinating with investigation units to arrest Giap Thi Huyen Trang (born 1996, residing in Chung Minh village, Viet Ngoc commune, Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province). Trang is a suspect in kidnapping NHT (born 2021, in the urban area of Da Ton commune, Gia Lam Hanoi), demanding ransom.
Viet Ngoc commune police said that Trang is the eldest sister in a family of 3 children (2 girls, 1 boy) in Chung Chinh village, Viet Ngoc commune.
"Trang is not married, the suspect's parents are gentle, hard-working people," said a representative of Viet Ngoc Commune Police.
Trang graduated from a pedagogical school, then went to teaching. However, after a while, because of her low income, Trang quit her job to work as a worker. During his time as a worker, Trang was said to have been in debt for a large amount of money, possibly due to online gambling and virtual currency investments. Her parents had to pay hundreds of millions of dong on Trang's behalf. Later, Trang worked as a maid in Hanoi and rarely returned home.
Sharing with reporters, Mr. Ngo Van V. (47 years old, living near Trang's house) said, Trang studied and graduated with a degree in pedagogy. After graduating, for about 3 years, Trang taught at a local high school. Due to not being able to take the civil service exam and the low salary of contract teachers, in 2021, Trang quit the teaching profession.
"At home, he also works hard. When he sees adults, he greets him and helps his parents with any work at home," Mr. V. said, confiding that Trang's crime caused many people to be very surprised.
Mr. V. did not dare to think that the girl near his house was the suspect in kidnapping and harming a 21-month-old girl in Gia Lam district. "The hardest thing now is for the parents, who have spent so many years studying and never paid back a day, now causing disaster that makes the whole family miserable," Mr. V. said.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Y. (neighbor) also commented that when she was still living and working in the locality, Trang was hard-working, hard-working, and had no reputation. Mrs. Y.'s eldest son was also taught by Trang.
According to Ms. Y., in 2021, Trang left her hometown to go to Bac Ninh to work as a worker. Also from this point on, Mrs. Y. as well as her neighbors in Chung Minh village rarely saw Trang.
Telling the reporter, Ms. Y. said that around November 2022, she heard that Trang was in debt. However, everyone in the village did not care or ask because they thought this was a personal matter.
On Lunar New Year 2023, Trang returned to her hometown, stayed home until around April, then went to Hanoi to pick up and drop off students. From then on, everyone in Chung Minh village no longer paid attention to the only girl who was a teacher in this village.

Similar to Ms. Y.'s above sharing, Ms. H. (from the same commune) also said that she heard that Trang was in debt and had to let her parents help pay. When she was in school, Mrs. H.'s daughter was in the same class as Trang.
"Yesterday afternoon, my son told a story that in our commune there was a person who kidnapped and killed someone. I looked at the photo and didn't recognize him (Trang - Reporter), because he used to be small, but now he looks fatter and rounder. "When I asked carefully and found out that it was related to this case, I was so surprised," Ms. H. said, adding that Trang's mother is a farmer, and this girl's father is a builder.
Citing news from Nguoi Lao Dong, around 5:00 p.m. on September 19, Trang wore sunscreen, a mask, a hat, and drove a motorbike to go to her 2-year-old girl's school to pick her up. After carrying the baby in the car, the suspect drove the motorbike toward Me So commune (Van Giang district, Hung Yen province). Next, Trang texted the child's family to announce that she had kidnapped the child and demanded that the family pay 1.5 billion VND to release the child.
During this time, Giap Thi Huyen Trang cruelly harmed the child in a fish pond on a family's farm in the fields of Nhan Thap village (Me So commune, Van Giang district, Hung Yen province). After harming the child, the suspect drove the car around several stores looking to buy clothes to change to hide the crime and fled.
Through investigation, at about 11:30 a.m. on September 20, Hung Yen Provincial Police discovered the body of a 2-year-old girl in a fish pond in a field in Nhan Thap village. Immediately after the discovery, Hung Yen Provincial Police coordinated with the Hung Yen Provincial People's Procuracy to conduct an examination of the scene and organize an investigation to verify and clarify.
