After discovering the disease, the patient said he was temporarily residing in Ho Chi Minh City. After receiving this information, the Center for Disease Control launched an epidemiological investigation and localized treatment.
According to epidemiological investigation, the patient lives in Ho Chi Minh City. The Center for Disease Control conducted a travel history investigation and compiled a list of 8 people who had close contact with the patient.
Of these 8 people, 1 is a friend of the patient, currently residing in Binh Duong province. This person just tested positive for monkeypox.
Thus, up to now, Vietnam has recorded 4 cases of monkeypox.
People who had close contact with the above male patient residing in Ho Chi Minh City have been instructed to self-monitor their health at home for 21 days. They are also instructed to clean and disinfect the entire boarding house and personal items. These close contacts are currently stable, with no unusual symptoms.
During the 3 weeks before symptom onset, the male patient mentioned above was only in Vietnam. Currently, the Center for Disease Control continues to investigate and monitor the health of patients and contacts.
Accordingly, on September 26, the Department of Preventive Medicine (Ministry of Health) sent a document to the Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City; Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health; Dong Nai Department of Health and Binh Duong Department of Health on strengthening monkeypox prevention.
