The miracle came at 6:30 a.m. on July 31. At the coordinates of 18.39.8433, more than 30km from the mainland, the transport ship VINASINE 555 (number QN-8425) commanded by Captain Tran Dinh Hai discovered Mr. Tung's father and son floating in the middle of the sea. The ship immediately organized a rescue and brought the two safely on board.

At the time of admission, both father and son showed signs of exhaustion after many hours on the sea, but were still awake and not life-threatening. The two victims received initial medical first aid, stabilized the victim's psychology and organized to reunite with their families.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Tran Dinh Hai (44 years old) - captain of the cargo ship VINASHIN 555 said that at about 6 am on July 31, his ship carrying stones departed from Nam Dinh to Dung Quat. When arriving at the waters of Eye Island, he and the crew found Mr. Tung's father and son waving for help in the sea, so they let the ship return, in the spirit of urgency, the crew approached the father and son.

"When I arrived at the location of the father and son, I let the brothers go down the ladder to the sea to rescue the two people on board. At 9 a.m. on the same day, I called the coastal police to report the incident and they sent the boat out to welcome Mr. Tung's father and son back," Mr. Hai recounted.

After handing over the father and son to the functional forces, Mr. Hai's cargo ship continued its journey into Dung Quat.
