After many days of causing a stir on the internet, the family of the chil.d in the clip has spoken out. The husband recently revealed the reason why his wife left their 18-month-old chil.d in the middle of the road, making many "hot-tempered" netizens even more indignant.
According to the content of the clip, the woman was driving a motorbike, carrying two children. While walking in the middle of the road, she suddenly stopped, then left the chil.d sitting in front in the middle of the road. A moment later, she took the older chil.d sitting in the back and sped away, the chil.d who was left behind immediately crawled after her.
Security cameras captured the image of a trembling bab.y crawling unsteadily on the road, in the ho.t sun and with passing vehicles. The scene made anyone who witnessed it feel shocked and angry. Luckily, people discovered it in time and rushed out to pick up the bab.y.
The clip made viewers extremely indignant and angry at the woman's cold, heartless actions. "I don't understand what she was thinking when she did that? It was too cruel and too dangerous. If a car hadn't seen it and couldn't brake in time, what would have been the consequences?" , a netizen commented.
In addition, many people also questioned the relationship between the woman and the chil.d. But regardless of their relationship, for whatever reason, this person's actions are unacceptable.
Recently, a news site reported that it had identified information related to the incident. Accordingly, the road in the clip is in Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province. The woman is the mother of the chil.d. The chil.d is currently 18 months old.
On the afternoon of June 21, a person claiming to be the chil.d's father took the chil.d to Chau Thanh District Medical Center for a health check. The center's staff confirmed the information. Regarding his wife's actions, the man said that because the couple had a conflict, in a moment of anger, his wife took the chil.d outside, then dropped the chil.d on the street as shown in the clip.
Previously, the case of a mother abandoning her chil.d, leading to her deat.h, also occurred near a rubber plantation in Loc Hung commune, Loc Ninh district, Binh Phuoc province. Through verification, the police identified the chil.d's mother as KD (17 years old, local).
According to authorities, since the end of May, Ms. D. has been staying at Mr. T.'s house (in Loc Hung commune). Noticing Ms. D.'s unusually large belly, Mr. T.'s parents repeatedly questioned her, but the gir.l did not admit that she was pregnant.
Ms. D. was taken to the doctor and was diagnosed with signs of impending labor. However, the gir.l did not inform Mr. T.'s parents. In the morning, Ms. D. had a stomachache and drove to the rubber plantation to give birth herself. After that, the gir.l left the bab.y in a hole and returned home injured, requiring emergency care. Currently, D. is out of danger.
Through this incident, many people wonder if the mother will be held legally responsible for abandoning her newborn chil.d and causing the bab.y to di.e?
Lawyer Tran Xuan Tien, head of Dong Doi Law Office, Hanoi Bar Association, said that giving birth and then abandoning a chil.d seems like a plot that only appears in movies and novels.
However, heartbreaking incidents in the most sacred relationship of motherhood are happening quite a lot, newborn babies are abandoned, sometimes with their umbilical cord still attached, and are thrown away in extremely tragic situations... There are creatures that have just been born and have been hastily pushed into trash cans, temporarily left on the side of the road, or placed in sewers...
The issue here is not only about ethics but also about the awareness and legal responsibility of these mothers.
Accordingly, a mother who intentionally abandons a chil.d may be subject to a fine of 20 - 25 million VND according to the provisions of Clause 2, Article 21 of Decree 130/2021/ND-CP.
However, in this case, the abandoned chil.d has died, so the mother (born in 2006) may be prosecuted for the crime of abandoning a newborn chil.d under the provisions of Clause 2, Article 124 of the 2015 Penal Code, amended in 2017. Accordingly, the person who commits this act may be sentenced to non-custodial reform for up to 02 years or imprisoned for 03 months to 02 years.
