Changing his name and surname, living in hiding for 22 years, the subject wanted by the Chu Pah District Police finally did not escape the "net of heaven". At the police office, he admitted his criminal behavior.

On October 31, the Police of Duc Lieu commune, Bu Dang district, Binh Phuoc province handed over the subject Hoang Quoc Phong (47 years old, from Gia Lai) to the Police of Chu Pah district, Gia Lai province for investigation according to its competence. Phong was wanted more than 22 years ago after committing property theft with his accomplices.

According to the investigation dossier, from 17/12/2001 to 19/12/2001, Phong, along with Nguyen Ky (48 years old) and Nguyen Van Hung (47 years old) twice entered a house in Hoa Phu commune, Chu Pah district and stole 6 bags of coffee and 1 water pump.

On January 1, 2002, Ky and Hung were arrested by the police. Phong fled the locality. In the process of hiding, the subject wandered in many provinces and cities and did many jobs to make a living. In 2006, he went to hide in village 2, Duc Lieu commune, Bu Dang district and changed his name to Rat to practice as a mason.

Discovering that the subject of Rat Rat lived in the locality, there were many doubts, little interaction with neighbors around, the police quietly investigated. Through verification, the local police determined that the Rat was Hoang Quoc Phong, who was wanted by the Chu Pah District Police.

On the evening of October 30, 2024, when Phong was on his way home from work, he was arrested by the Duc Lieu commune police in coordination with the Chu Pah district police in secret clothes. At the police office, he admitted his criminal behavior.

In September this year, there was also a fugitive wanted for 22 years similar to Hoang Quoc Phong who was arrested but committed a more serious crime. According to the Gia Lai Provincial Police, on September 15, the Investigating Police Agency of Phu Thien District Police in collaboration with the Criminal Police Division of Tay Ninh Provincial Police successfully arrested the wanted subject Pham Nguyen Hoang Anh after more than 22 years of hiding.

According to the case file, on the night of April 30, 2002, Pham Nguyen Hoang Anh (born in 1976; residing in So Ma Hang B village, Ia Peng commune, Phu Thien district) and his accomplices used a dangerous weapon to hit Mr. T.V.N., causing 14% bodily injury and Mr. N.V.M. causing 16% bodily damage.

After committing the crime, Pham Nguyen Hoang Anh fled from his residence. On December 1, 2002, the Investigating Police Agency of Ayun Pa District Police (now Phu Thien District) issued a Decision to prosecute the accused and a Wanted Decision No. 241 for Pham Nguyen Hoang Anh.

After more than 22 years, by professional measures, the Phu Thien District Police discovered that Pham Nguyen Hoang Anh was hiding in the border area between Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh Province, so they coordinated with the local Police to arrest him.

About 1 month earlier, the subject Do Hong Su (SN 1985, Ham Tan district) who had also escaped arrest since 2002 was arrested by the Office of the Binh Thuan Provincial Police Investment Agency.

According to the records, in 2002, the Police Department of Ham Tan district, Binh Thuan issued a wanted decision for the crime of "Theft of property". After committing the crime, the subject fled into the forest in Son My, Ham Tan district to live for 4 years, then to Dong Nai to live for 15 years.

In 2022, Quan returned to Binh Thuan, lived a wandering life in La Gi town and Ham Tan district and applied to the Public Works Management Board of La Gi town to collect waste. Through the monitoring process, the Police Department of La Gi town, Binh Thuan discovered and arrested Do Hong Su when the subject was fishing for entertainment in Ham Tan district.

According to the Binh Thuan Police Investigative Office, after nearly 20 days of peak military deployment to review and verify, arrest, mobilize surrenders, and eliminate wanted subjects, Binh Thuan Police have arrested 13 wanted subjects, including many dangerous and particularly dangerous subjects.
