Contacting the PD, the friend said, around 19:00 on October 30, the PD came to eat at S restaurant. After 1 hour of eating and paying, the PD left and discovered that the 2020 SH150i car was valuable. his more than 100 million dong was "flying without wings".
She said: "The car SH150i I bought myself in 2020. At that time, the value of the car was 120 million VND. When I discovered the car was lost, I was really shocked. I am a regular customer, often come to eat. Before entering the shop, I asked the staff member if I could park my car outside the door, she answered and directed me to the third floor of the restaurant to sit. The restaurant did not post a post-epidemic notice, the restaurant did not have a security guard to look after the car, and the staff did not remind me to take care of the car by myself in advance."
The PD asked the manager of S. restaurant to report the incident to the police. The time of this incident was on Saturday (October 30), restaurant manager S. informed the PD that the police said "it's the weekend, so it won't be resolved until Monday". The PD believed the words of restaurant manager S. and left.
On Monday morning (November 1), the PD and the restaurant manager went to the agency to declare, but the police side suddenly replied, "Why did I lose my car on Saturday but I have not reported it until now". At this time, the PD learned that the restaurant manager did not call the police before. Only then did this manager start extracting the restaurant's camera to give it to the police to solve.
Nearly a week after the incident, realizing that the chance of finding his car was too slim, the PD took the initiative to contact S. restaurant, asking the restaurant to support this loss. The PD shared: "From the very beginning, I told the owner of restaurant S. The loss of the car is something no one wants. When I bought it, my car was worth 120 million VND, but I actively reduced the value of the car. 100 million VND left and hope the restaurant can support me from 30-40% of the value of the lost car.
The attitude of the restaurant owner S. made me extremely disappointed. The restaurant side kept blaming me, insisting that the restaurant had no obligation to look after the car and compensate. The owner of the restaurant insisted that I intentionally left the car in front of the door and colluded with the thief to take my own car."
The PD went to the restaurant three times with the desire to solve the problem together. Her friend shared: "The owner of the restaurant is Korean, has lived in Vietnam for a long time and can understand Vietnamese. He has never come out to talk directly and frankly with me. The conversation between the two on the right through his interpreter friend. He repeatedly asserted that the restaurant was not at fault. Even though I made an appointment before coming, every time I visited the restaurant, I had to wait at least 1 to 2 hours. Sometimes I had to wait. waiting for the boss to eat, sometimes waiting for the boss to meet you upstairs.
When I came to talk at the bar, I only brought my sister along, my talking attitude was also very gentle. However, the restaurant was not willing to solve it and once tried to call the police to the restaurant to solve this problem instead."
Until October 15, ie 2 weeks after the loss of PD's car happened, the owner of S. restaurant decided to compensate PD 10 million VND. Before compensating for the PD, the restaurant owner still insists that this support is due to "the restaurant's discretion, the customer is not entitled to claim, just like meeting a beggar on the street for one or two hundred thousand dong or two hundred thousand dong or two hundred thousand dong." is for". This is the culmination of disrespecting the customer, the PD did not want to have to fight and waste time for both parties, so he agreed to receive this amount.
Immediately, the PD transferred 10 million VND compensated by S. restaurant directly to the Covid-19 vaccine fund. Explaining this unexpected action, the PD confided: "My car is also lost. What I need is not money but the goodwill attitude of the restaurant. Therefore, I decided to send the number. The restaurant's compensation for me goes to the Covid-19 vaccine fund. Hopefully with this little contribution, I can contribute a part to the prevention of the pandemic."
After posting on the review board, the PD was surprised because many comments also shared that he had lost his car when he went to eat at this restaurant. The restaurant side quickly posted the notice "no responsibility to preserve the property". Restaurant manager S. also sent a text message to the PD to blame her for her act of posting a cover story.
