The investigation agency determined that the cause of the traffic accident was that Mr. Binh drove the truck to overtake another vehicle without ensuring safe conditions, did not keep a safe distance from the car in front, and lacked attention. Poor observation and handling.

At the trial, Mr. Binh testified that when he signaled to overtake, the 5-seat car steered to the right, so he thought the 5-seat car driver had given way to let him pass. However, when driver Binh let the car pass, parallel to the 5-seat car, he saw two cars running in the opposite direction 600 - 700m away, so he drove back to his side of the road. However, due to the "blind spot", the 5-seat car could not be seen and an accident occurred.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Tu Sinh, driver of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club, said that at this time the car was driving on the right side of the road at a speed of less than 60km/h according to the regulations of the road. Mr. Sinh said he did not use the right turn signal when Binh's car was passing.

At the trial, driver Binh cried, apologized to the victims' families and hoped the court would reduce the penalty.

After questioning, the prosecutor's representative argued that driver Binh's behavior had enough elements to constitute the crime of "violating road traffic regulations" with very serious elements, causing many deaths.

Therefore, the proposed sentence for driver Binh is 9-10 years in prison. At the same time, Dai Thang Company is requested to be responsible for compensating for damages, funeral costs, and mental losses for the victims' families.

After deliberation, the court sentenced defendant Dinh Tien Binh to 10 years in prison for "violating regulations when participating in road traffic".

Regarding civil liability, it is required that Dai Thang Company compensate Mr. Dao Van Long (family of Mr. Dao Trong Tri) 154 million VND, Ms. Duong Thi Ngoc Bich (wife of Mr. Duong Minh Ninh) 168.3 million VND and grant Duong Minh Huy pays 3 million VND each month until he turns 18 years old.

At the same time, compensate the family of Mr. Paollo Oliveira 420 million VND and Mr. Nguyen Tu Sinh 78.8 million VND.

Compensation for Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club's car was 272 million VND. Dai Thang Company also had to pay 43 million VND in first instance civil court fees.
