In the morning of the same day, Colonel Son, the regimental commander and Colonel Quan, the chief flight officer, flew the Yak-130 to participate in training at Phu Cat airport - where the 940th Regiment used as a base and training. They perform long-distance, air-to-air, and cloud-piercing flights in complex meteorological conditions.

After nearly 40 minutes in the air, nearly 11 a.m., at the end of the landing preparation exercise, they discovered that the plane could not be released, and at the same time took emergency measures to handle the situation, but were unsuccessful. The pilot notified the commander and was allowed to parachute in the area of TB2 Shooting Range, Tay Son district.

According to Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son, in heavy rain and strong wind, we have found 2 pilots. "Comrades are healthy and safe. The two pilots will be treated at Military Hospital 13 until they recover," said Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son.
