On the evening of July 18, the Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch No. 668/CD-TTg on overcoming the consequences of a particularly serious traffic accident that occurred on the same day in Khanh Hoa province.

According to a quick report of Khanh Hoa People's Committee, at 3:20 pm on July 18, at Khanh Le pass (Khanh Vinh district, Khanh Hoa) a particularly serious traffic accident occurred.

The car carrying 20 Chinese tourists and 2 Vietnamese guides from Da Lat to Nha Trang overturned. The accident caused 4 deaths (including 3 Chinese) and 9 injuries.

Immediately upon receiving the information, the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee sent condolences to the families of the deceased victims, encouraged to visit the injured victims in the accident. .

The Vice Chairman in charge of the National Traffic Safety Committee directly went to the scene to coordinate with the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee in directing the remedial measures and visiting the victims in the accident.

The Prime Minister requested the Chairman of the People's Committee cum Head of the Traffic Safety Committee of Khanh Hoa province to concentrate as much as possible on doctors, medicine and medical equipment to treat injured victims; visit, support and encourage the families of the dead and injured victims in the accident.

The Prime Minister asked the locality to closely coordinate with relevant agencies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy in the process of handling the next steps, ensuring compliance with the law.

After the incident, the Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee must chair a conference to assess the causes, overcome the shortcomings and shortcomings, and at the same time consider handling the responsibilities of the concerned collectives and individuals.

The Ministry of Public Security is responsible for directing the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police to expeditiously investigate and clarify the cause of the accident and strictly handle in accordance with law the organizations and individuals that violate and cause the traffic accident. The Ministry of Transport directs the Vietnam Road Administration to coordinate with relevant agencies to review and strengthen traffic organization to improve the safety of National Highway 27C, focusing on adding guardrail structures, rescue holes. accidents on steep slopes.

According to the Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Transport - Nguyen Van Dan, the driver did not have alcohol and was negative for drugs. The vehicle in the accident is still registered. According to Mr. Dan, the accident caused 3 deaths on the spot, 1 died while being transferred to the hospital, the rest were injured and transferred to Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital. It is known that the bus driver is Ho Ngoc Hung (58 years old, living in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), on the bus also has a Vietnamese guide.

After the accident, the front of the car was deformed, the glass was broken, and the luggage inside was scattered. Many people trapped in the car panicked and called for help. Some victims had scratches all over their bodies, smashing car doors to get out.

According to the Road Administration, the damaged vehicle was manufactured in 2017, with an expiry date of 2037, allowing for a maximum of 29 people. At the time of the accident, the car was traveling at a speed of 46 km/h (50 km/h allowed on the road), before 10 seconds the speed was 43 km/h.

Leaders of Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital said that at the moment, the hospital receives more than 10 victims. Most of the patients are in good health, not life-threatening.
