The truth about the male tourist who mysteriously disappeared for 6 days in Cuc Phuong forest has just been discovered near Son Cung cave, causing many people to question what happened in the deserted forest.
On August 19, the authorities of Ninh Binh province discovered Nguyen Quoc Manh (born in 1992, residing in Hai Phong), a tourist missing in Cuc Phuong forest, after 6 days of searching. This is a special case, causing many people to be shocked and concerned about safety issues when visiting the national park.
According to information from the police and the Ninh Binh provincial prosecutor's office, Manh was discovered about 500 meters from Son Cung cave. Previously, at the cave entrance, the authorities found the victim's backpack, phone and personal papers, which were the first signs of his disappearance. The victim was located in a hole halfway up the mountain, in an area with few people passing by, making the search difficult in the first days.
This is the first time such an incident has occurred at Cuc Phuong National Park. A representative of the national park said that in the past, many tourists have gone astray but were found within a short period of time, there has never been a case that lasted as long and led to a death like this time.
According to Lao Dong newspaper, on the afternoon of August 13, Manh arrived at Bong area, about 20 km from the national park gate, and rented a room for the night. On the morning of August 14, he continued traveling alone along the Cho Chi tree route, the main sightseeing route of the park. On the same day, other tourists discovered his backpack, papers and phone at the entrance of Son Cung cave and reported it to the rangers.
During the search, the authorities also discovered the words "34 HD, TM, 2025, HANG" engraved on the cliff in Son Cung cave, suspected to have been left by Mr. Manh. This trace shows that the victim had moved deep into the cave area, but was then unable to escape on his own.
The search was hampered by the complex terrain of Cuc Phuong forest, with many areas lacking cell phone signal, forcing communication between search teams to be done mainly via walkie-talkies. Before the discovery, the rescue teams had to spend many days trekking through forests, wading through streams, and checking every corner of the area.
Thus, Mr. Manh was found on the 6th day since the rescue team began searching, ending the heartbreaking end of a special case. Currently, the police and the prosecutor's office are conducting an investigation at the scene to determine the cause of his death.
This is a special and rare case in Cuc Phuong National Park. The national park representative emphasized that although this place is always considered safe for tourists, deep forest areas still have potential risks. This incident is also a warning to follow tour instructions, not to go alone in deserted areas, and always ensure means of communication in the forest.
In addition, authorities also recommend that visitors to the forest prepare maps, communication devices, and inform the park management of specific schedules to prevent incidents. Traveling alone, especially to high mountain areas and caves with few people, is potentially very dangerous and can lead to unfortunate consequences like the case of Mr. Manh.
The incident of Nguyen Quoc Manh has made many people feel sorry, and is a strong reminder about safety when exploring wild nature. Through this, the need to strengthen warnings, guidance and supervision of tourists in national parks, especially in deep forest and mountainous areas, is a top priority.
Authorities are still conducting detailed investigations to clarify the cause of the tragic passing and complete related legal procedures. The incident is also expected to create many changes in the management of ecotourism safety, to avoid similar accidents in the future.
Overall, this incident highlights the importance of being well-prepared, following instructions, and always being cautious when traveling in the forest. Although Cuc Phuong is an attractive tourist destination, safety must still be a top priority to protect the lives and health of visitors.
