The trial was opened due to appeals for reduced sentences of Mr. Dang Anh Quan, Mr. Huynh Cong Tan, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Nhi, Ms. Le Thi Thu Ha and appeals of persons with related interests and obligations Ms. Dinh Thi Lan, Ms. Dang Thi Han Ni.

Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hang (general director of Dai Nam Joint Stock Company) is serving a prison sentence and although she did not appeal, she was still summoned to the trial by the appeals court to clarify some facts of the case.

Specifically, Mr. Quan said that the conclusion of the investigation and the indictment differed from the testimony of Mr. and Ms. Fang Hang. He disputed what the newspaper published and gave an opinion on the law, not offending Mr. Hoai Linh.

At the same time, he said that he expressed the same anti-social views as Ms. Hang, not the same personal insulting views.

Second, Quan contends that the conclusion of the investigation and indictment contains a collage of his testimony.

In court, defendant Nguyen Thi Mai Nhi upheld her appeal for reduced punishment and suspended sentence. Nhi said she was an employee of Ms. Hang, and Ms. Hang said to do whatever she wanted.

Nhi said that he has contributed to charitable causes in his hometown, the defendant is raising young children and raising an elderly mother, during the investigation the defendant actively cooperated. The defendant has a stable residence, so the authorities are easy to manage.

Defendant Le Thi Thu Ha also upheld her appeal for a suspended sentence. Ha claimed to be Ms. Phuong Hang's employee, tasked with setting up the stage when Ms. Hang livestreamed.

Similarly, defendant Huynh Cong Tan also appealed for a suspended sentence.

Tan was aware that his behavior had a bad influence but asked the appeals court to consider the circumstances of having good character, having many certificates of merit, being an only child in the family, raising parents, Dai Nam Joint Stock Company also applied for bail for the accused.

The court continued to question the person involved, Dinh Thi Lan. Lan said she had appealed the entire sentence for "criminal neglect". Accordingly, she is the victim and does not agree as a person with related rights and obligations.

In court, Lan asked Ms. Fang Hang to pay more than $3 billion in compensation and wanted to settle the case. She argued that the first instance judgment separating Lan's part of the claim into another case if there was a claim was wrong.
